Woot! I fell in ❤️ with Banofee during a visit to Ireland in '99. Couldn't find that at all in the Boston area. Even in the Irish parts of town.
I actually found it a couple years ago in a smaller town bakery. That bakery has since closed. Haven't really hunted for it in the States again.
Enjoyed some more during my Ireland vacation this past March... Yummo!

Wrapping. Putting the skirt on the tree. Maybe attempting to make some sun visor covers for a 24 year old civic.
What's a Christmas tree skirt? I'm intrigued
It's a piece of cloth, usually circular with a hole, that goes around the bottom of the tree. It hides the tree stand and gives an area for presents to be not on the ground.
Ahhh pretty I approve
Everything lol. Cramming starts on Monday.
- Buy my sister and nephew gifts (BIL and mum's are ready)
- Stop myself from drinking the homemade anisette
- Prepare some Stolle (I'm glad they didn't insist on panettone)
- Control my desires so I don't chug the anise liqueur
- Finish decorating the new cardboard tank aka Panzerfrieda
- Prevent Lvxferre from drinking the vodka flavoured with star anise and the likes
- Grab some ingredients for the brie and funghi secchi risotto
- NO DRINK BOOZE.
So it's a lot, but most of them are "don't".
Waiting for one final Christmas present to arrive before I can wrap it and place it under the tree.
Also have to make a brussel sprouts dish for Christmas Eve dinner.
Unpopular opinion but I really like sprouts.
I love them, too. Specially sautéed with a tasty fat (lard, EVOO, butter, all three work great), salt, black pepper, and a bit of lime juice.
Finishing the gift for my mother.
I'm really bad at posting cards on time. It's not like it's that hard to write them, but I don't really enjoy doing it and procrastinate. Today's the last day I can write and post them but I don't feel up for it, so my family will get late Christmas cards this year 😅
I still need to pick up a stack of gift cards
Grab some fresh fruit for the stockings.
In an astonishing miracle, not much.
- Like 3 more gifts to wrap that haven't arrived yet. - Lighted garland to strap to my porch and sort out the automatic timer for.
- Have to order a gift card for someone because Amazon just cancelled what I actually ordered them.
I'm sure there's some other shit that will come up, but we're doing good this year.
Last year we hadn't ordered most of the gifts yet.
A few more shopping trips, lots of wrapping, and several batches of cookies. It’s gonna be a long week.
