badposting is a comm where you post badly

This is not a !the_dunk_tank@hexbear.net alternative. This is not a !memes@hexbear.net alternative. This is a place for you to post your bad posts.

Ever had a really shitty bit idea? Joke you want to take way past the point of where it was funny? Want to feel like a stand-up comedy guy who's been bombing a set for the past 30 minutes straight and at this point is just saying shit to see if people react to it? Really bad pun? A homemade cringe concoction? A cognitohazard that you have birthed into this world and have an urge to spread like chain mail?

Rules:

  1. Do not post good posts.
    • Unauthorized goodposting is to be punished in the manner of commenting the phrase "GOOD post" followed by an emoji that has not yet been used in the thread
    • Use an emoticon/kaomoji/rule-three-abiding ASCII art if the rations run out
  2. This is not a comm where you direct people to other people's bad posts. This is a comm where you post badly.
  3. This rule intentionally left blank.
  4. If you're struck for rule 3, skill issue, not allowed to complain about it.

Code of Conduct applies just as much here as it does everywhere else. Technically, CoC violations are bad posts. On the other hand: L + ratio + get ~~better~~ worse material bozo

why are you doxing me like this

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I'm bona fide punk as fuck and it's not that embarrassing. My Chemical Romance is way more embarrassing and even then I could sell old goths on their first album cause Vampires Will Never Hurt You is an undeniable tune

My Chemical Romance... their first album

stop looking at my shelf and get out of my room!

Absolutely NOT

Whats embarrassing about my chemical romance? I listened to them again recently and black parade is still just as fire as the first day i listened to it. Me and my dad loved our angsty teen music without shame

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 2 points 1 month ago

I feel like i was the only person to find Black Parade disappointing. I had found more underground stuff I liked more between the previous album getting huge and it but I was still pumped when the video premier aired for the song like a month before the album and then I heard the song. Never listened to the whole album. Just thought the song was too much even for them. I got into angsty teen music from the 80s as well as angry teen/adult music around that time. I like the stuff i liked as a kid but even then im a first album only hipster for MCR. Even 3 Cheers sounds suuuper over produced to me now even though most every song rips pretty hard.

There's some bangers on that album despite the pretentiousness and vague gesturing towards politics while producing a rick opera about suburban alienation. Holiday is a really really good song and I have stolen the main riff and quadrupled the speed to grear effect in a dbeat band before. St Jimmy, She's a Rebel and Letterbomb are dope tunes. It's no Insomniac but it was the last time Greend Day would do anything worth noticing.

certified millennial take, only a millennial would both think about green day enough and also appreciate american idiot to arrive at this thought

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I do t think anyone would argue that except for the members of Greenday and even then I dont think they could be full hearted about it. But yes, I was a an early teen when this came out.

[–] segfault11@hexbear.net 2 points 1 month ago

i feel like older green day fans would say it was their first bad album, and younger listeners seem to still like their newer albums, which would make "american idiot was the last good green day album" a very millennial opinion

Lol I was at great America by chance the day they launched pog. What a wild thing to witness. For context that's where they did the launch event. Or at least one of them.

NFTs for 90s kids

[–] uSSRI@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago

Every food product that a kid might remotely be marketed to had pogs inside for like a year. I used to ask my mom to get the fishsticks with the Gordon's Fisherman pogs in the box. Guess it worked pretty good lmao

[–] LargeAdultRedBook@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

So these are what pogs are? I have seen them referenced and never asked. They aren't Pokemon specific are they? Where did people get these things from?

[–] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

Pogs were originally cardboard milk and juice caps that children would play with (POG stands for Passion fruit, Orange and Guava), until a company monetized them in the 90s and started selling them separately, often with sick designs like skulls and 8-balls.

Technically, other pieces of round cardboard like the ones in the picture aren't Pogs™, but people started using it as a generic term.
