I bet all the ranchers who voted for him are thrilled

[–] jubilationtcornpone@sh.itjust.works 22 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Oh, they're pissed. But they would still vote for him again. Because at least he's not a DuMbOcRaT.

And that last bit is why I have zero sympathy for them whatsoever, and hope that they become financially destitute

He just took a sledgehammer to the last remaining positive revenue generating sector in U.S. agriculture.

The U.S. agricultural sector is entering a depression the likes of which hasn't been seen since the 1930's. Every major sector is taking a beating. Across the entire country farm bankruptcies have started to climb. A bumper crop in many locations is the only reason that more farmers didn't go under already. In my opinion, it's barely the tip of an iceberg, this year is going to be very, very bad.

The vast majority of those going bankrupt, voted for it.

As long as south Americans suffer, they are fine with it.

Wait a second....

He's not allowed to run for another term. How would they do that?

Bend over beef farmers. No, not the big farmers - they will get welfare checks. The little beef farmers will get bankruptcy.

Dude already has enough beef with people.

Don't worry, they're finally going to cum from actually being a victim instead of pretending to be all the time.

Winning hearts and minds with foreign beef.

...how are the hittites and philistines getting along?

[–] orbituary@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I heard the Hittites burned out and the Philistines changed their name to something more modern.

The Hittite empire vanished in the Bronce Age collaps without any succesors whatsoever.

The Philistine city states, on the other hand, survived the Bronce Age collaps and thrived for millenia under changing overlords, Ashdod being destroyed as late as 1948 and Gaza still standing. Well, more or less.

Trump needs to prop up Milei until he's no longer useful.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'm not sure I've followed how Milei has been useful to him so far.

Mostly as a political prop but also for people like Vought to point to as evidence that their shared "burn down the government" philosophy is good for the economy.
