He was saddened to hear the news.

I want to remind you, several Fox News hosts, as well as numerous Republican congress critters are Harvard Alumni. "Elite intuition" is by definition an institution for economic elites, who predominantly are Republicans, most of whom support everything Trump is doing. I don't approve of any attack on education, but Ivy League schools have always been more about forming insider networks of nepotism and cronyism than education so I will have to say this meme doesn't land very hard.

thier the definition of elitist, entitiled bratty, whiney. its probably why they ended up on fox or the gop, because actual jobs wont hire people like these. and schools like harvard, stanford produces elitist graduates.

Yeah, came here to say that I'm pretty sure the Harvard Business School is hella full of Republicans

The admissions committee does its best, but those fuckers slip through, especially considering 40% of the student body at Harvard is legacies and athletes, which is outrageous and should be illegal.

they bring in the most money unfortunately. have a rich /wealthy parents that are likely donating to the school, acceptance for said silver spoon child.

Just as funny is the idea of Trump withholding federal funds from Harvard. They are private and their foundation is rich as fuck.

many private universities in the USA do receive significant subsidies, though AFAIK mostly as research subsidies

True. The feds could probably have some impact within the Harvard community. I just suspect their leverage is extremely low

Easy when they're not accepted for being idiots

You hear that Kelce brothers? You have NO CHANCE with ME. NONE.

[–] daannii@lemmy.world 9 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Did you know. Trump and musk both have bought degrees from university of Pennsylvania.

So that place has literally zero credibility.

[–] NOT_RICK@lemmy.world 7 points 12 hours ago

You’ll find that’s true for the entire Ivy League. There’s always legacies and other well off people that get degrees from these institutions that they otherwise probably shouldn’t have an opportunity to receive.

That's pretty funny, but what is going on with Harvard? I expected MAGA to be upset with them for being an educational institution, but then Epstein connections start showing up over there and now alert and oriented people with literacy and consciences are mad at them, too.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 2 hours ago

even one of the MIT faculty was part of epstein island.

Let's go back to the way way long ago, January 2025. When King Don was crowned the second time he declared that diversity equality and inclusion (DEI) were dead. He and his court demanded that Universities be reserved for their kids and stop DEI, so their kids wouldn't have to sit in class with a black or brown and have their kids learn about empathy. King Don said that any institution which says they're not ditching DEI is a terrorist organization and won't receive federal funds. This scared a lot schools into doing what King Don wanted, but a few didn't and one of those schools is Harvard. Now King Don and his MAGA followers are angry because this school is fighting back, so they've decided to stop going to Harvard. Except they were never getting in so who cares?

wasnt harvard the one that was called/found out for purposely not admitting ASIAN students because there are too many, and they want to bring "whiteness" back to the school. they are probably protecting themselves here, dont want to open themselves to more lawsuits.

That tweet is from 2018.

Do you know how relieved Harvard would be to hear this? Imagine the pain in the ass of trying to winnow out all the crazies by the admissions committee when all the goddamned essays are written by ChatGPT or paid professionals.
