Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

I don't believe this headline for a minute. Most MAGA people don't pay attention to politics, they don't know they are under authoritarian rule and living in a fascist country with concentration camps in their neighborhood.

Maybe 2 or 3 people online were upset, but nothing to change the cults opinion.

[–] W3dd1e@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 hours ago

How many headlines have we seen that start with “MAGA turns on”

No. They didn’t.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 9 points 4 hours ago

Of all the people you'd think would be impressed by her Adult-Mean-Girl-with-a-burn-book routine, and using just about every logical fallacy there is, you think it would be "maga", AKA the baby-word we use for the base of the Republican Party.

I'm just surprised she didn't demand to see the manager somewhere in the course of her unhinged rants about how a hearing about her bungling/coverup for the Epstein Class wasn't praising Donvict and wasn't talking about the Dow, and didn't want to talk about whatever weird bullshit side quest conservative grievances du jour she was trying to inject in there by name-dropping random names into the mix.

I cannot even imagine what her internal dialogue must be like if she actually blurted out this kind of bilge, out loud, in the middle of a national hearing that is going to be televised. JFC.

[–] howl2@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 hours ago

Why would they turn on her? I don't believe it, she's doing exactly what she / they have been doing all along. The evil hypocrisy has been too blatant for too long for me to think maga doesn't love every second of it.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.world 21 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

She doesn't only need to resign but to also go to jail

[–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 10 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

That's why she isn't going to resign. Because her position is the only thing keeping her from going to prison.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.world 5 points 6 hours ago

But accountability is fully non existent in the USA. If Bush got away with war crimes nobody is going to be punished

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago

Hopium article.

[–] sommerset@thelemmy.club 3 points 4 hours ago

Resign?

I mean in the end this is exactly what she will do.

But people misunderstand.

This is a precalculated move to separate themselves from previous patrons and make it look involuntary and gain a victim status.

This will only happen after does everything she was hired to do. All calculated.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 16 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

She won't resign, and Trump won't fire her. Her performance was exactly what Trump wanted. They prepared her for that performance, gave her all sorts of MAGA Conservative Propaganda Machine conspiracy bullshit to spew when the heat rose and she wanted to try to put them on defense. This was what they planned for, and what they wanted.

Yelling crazy shit about made up nonsense from years ago, is exactly how Trump thinks this should be handled. He thinks that the American people have been shielded from the real behavior of these corrupt Democrats by the liberal mainstream media, and screaming it in public like a psychopath will alert America to the truth, and they will turn on the Dems, and support MAGA.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

It makes him and her look even worse to the normies. That's if this kind of thing breaks through at all.

I'm sure some of Republican faithful beat off to that kind of "testimony".

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 3 hours ago

They have absolutely ZERO self-awareness. They walk away from something like this, patting themselves on the back, and congratulating themselves that they humiliated those Trump Derangement Syndrome Democrats, as the whole world looks at them like the pathetic weirdo losers that they are.

[–] IhaveCrabs111@lemmy.world 22 points 8 hours ago

No way she’s resigning. She doing exactly what trump wants her to do. Keep important things redacted and attract attention away from trump. She’s not going anywhere as long long as there’s heat on trump

[–] Wessynessy@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

They're finally imploding

[–] myfunnyaccountname@lemmy.zip 12 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

They aren’t mad at what she said. They are mad cause she made them look bad.

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

they are a weird bunch. They want to be bad and do bad but not look like they are bad. And believe they are owed everyone to be in some sort of alliance that will assure they dont look bad. And then get mad like looking bad is the worst thing ever. worse than the bad things they do.

“How dare you make me look like im raping this child while i rape this child!”

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 7 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Make sure you tell them about the stock market! 🫲🍊🫱

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 4 hours ago

"Also, make sure you say I'm the best president in history."

[–] TehWorld@lemmy.world 7 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Stop with the RawStory links. It’s sensationalized garbage pandering to progressive values.

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 6 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

Per Wikipedia’s sourcing standards:

There is consensus that Raw Story is generally unreliable for factual reporting, based upon a pattern of publishing false and sensationalized stories. Editors almost unanimously agree that the source is biased and that in-text attribution should accompany each use of the source.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources

I brought this up so much in /c/politics, I got sick of it and blocked the sub.

But tabloids work. As long as the headline is stimulating, upvoters and moderators don’t seem to care.

[–] skisnow@lemmy.ca 4 points 6 hours ago

It's a shame you're getting downvoted cause you're on the money. People are kidding themselves if they think the Right are the only ones who have cynical media outlets telling them what they want to hear for clicks.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 19 points 14 hours ago (1 children)
[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 hours ago

I'd bet $10,000 she will be on the Supreme Court.

[–] Jaysyn@lemmy.world 65 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

At what point does covering up a child sex trafficking conspiracy make you an accomplice in the child sex trafficking conspiracy?

I think Pam is way, way past that.

[–] NotMyOldRedditName@lemmy.world 13 points 16 hours ago

What makes you think she isn't in the files we haven't seen and was already an accomplice?

Seems plausible enough, PAM - Are you hiding that you're in the files? I'm just asking questions!

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 8 points 17 hours ago

Her testimony reminded me of one of my favorite movies.

"Do you know what Ed Gein said...?"

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 24 points 16 hours ago

NGL I think if it were a male press secretary then most Republicans would still stand behind them.

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 36 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago) (12 children)

Every single one of these headlines would be better phrased as, "x does y and yet there will be no consequences and nothing will change", because that's the fucking reality.

Example:

Pam Bondi acts like a petulant toddler in front of Congress and yet there will be no consequences and nothing will change

Seriously what is up with these articles? No one has turned on shit. MAGA is a bought-and-paid-for sunken cost for these people. They’re all-in. They aren’t turning on anyone!

Go ahead and check Raw Story’s “journalistic” history. It’s mostly just hopium/copium slop.

“MAGA melts down after…”
“Trump furious because…”
“Judge SLAMS MAGA over….”

Meanwhile, not a fucking thing is changing, progressing, being fixed, undone, or halted in any meaningful way.

We’re being sold on action that isn’t happening. It’s an insulting pacifier that ok many people have no problem sucking on every single fucking day- several times a day.

>Trump's career ENDING implosion spells DOOM for administration

>Republican Party DESTROYED, reign of tyranny FINALLY OVER

Looking at you, Meidas and Adam Mockler

[–] ugandan_airways@lemmy.zip 2 points 8 hours ago

Medias and Mockler have become unwatchable. Mockler is extra disappointing as a “gen z voice” when he glazes establishment dems constantly. This boy thinks Hillary Clinton is cool and will save us, and that Joe Biden did an “amazing job.” Blah blah blah. He completely rejects actual progressive politics. He has said repeatedly that he is “OK with billionaires like Taylor Swift.” Mockler isn’t a Trump douche but he isn’t on the right side of this either. The only way forward is real progressivism, not more establishment dem pro-capitalist bullshit. They do not care about us. They care about billionaires.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 28 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

Seriously what is up with these articles?

This is our manufactured society now, as we read this bullshit, the right is reading their own versions that show Pam Bondi heroically fighting back against mean, mean Democrats, carefully edited and clipped to make her look like a Valhalla-worthy warrior.

We let too many people into positions of representation without giving a shit who they were or what they represented, and did nothing to interrupt them as they took donations from companies that want to manufacture our entire world so that they can decide what kind of shoppers they want us to be, and who we're going to be mad at (each other, they want us to hate each other so we don't hate the oligarchs and donor-class.)

If anyone wants to know why so much money is being poured into AI, it's because that's the tech that will let them micro-manufacture manipulation campaigns for every individual, on an individual level.

We are utterly and totally cooked unless people rise up and stop spending money on useless crap and start focusing on their communities and local leadership.

Resign?

Pam Bondi needs to be prosecuted and arrested. She's a complicit of all the MAGA and Trump criminal activities.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 9 points 16 hours ago

Resign, be exiled, put in stocks and have tomatoes thrown at her, launched into the ocean via trebuchet, used to test a SpaceX rocket - there's just so many possibilities!

[–] AcidiclyBasicGlitch@sh.itjust.works 15 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

Bullshit. The administration is crafting this narrative bc they're mad she didn't lie under oath about the existence of the domestic terrorism list.

[–] U7826391786239@lemmy.zip 176 points 1 day ago (4 children)

these fucking morons actually think she's anything more than a muppet doing exactly what it's told to do

[–] RaoulDook@lemmy.world 113 points 1 day ago (1 children)

She's probably a big part of the Epstein cover up. She was there in Florida in 2011 as attorney general of the state, after Epstein's first conviction, and while his activities were still ongoing but did nothing about it.

The entire reason she has this job is because she protected epstein's clients in Florida.

Needs to resign?

Needs to be drawn and quartered, along with every member of this cabinet.

Trump gets buried alive, covered in concrete, and then chisled into an award for himself, that reads SIC SEMPER TYRANIS.

Fuck all of these goddamned traitors.
