To swing your arm and not throw the ball is haram

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 20 points 2 weeks ago

They're going to implement Shiba Law!

electing a dog would be an upgrade

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 12 points 2 weeks ago

You make an excellent point!

[–] oftenawake@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 weeks ago

Electing a dog turd would be an upgrade!

[–] Jikiya@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I wish it were possible. Looking at the map, and being from Florida, that's one of the more rural and ignorant parts of this state. Don't get me wrong, I hope it happens, but I lack faith.

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It's not about faith, it's about action. Thanks for your comment. Remember land doesn't vote. And all those red states, AND blue states are really varying shades of lavender.

[–] Jikiya@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

I understand what youre saying, about it all, but the people in that area are the problem keeping him in his seat. There's surely some Dems there, but would be pleasantly surprised to learn there was a majority.

Go for it. Nobody is stopping you.

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 1 points 2 weeks ago

Workin' on it! Thanks, Captain Obvious. Any chance you want to lend a hand?

[–] usualsuspect191@lemmy.ca 28 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

WFT are they talking about?

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 18 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I imagine he is referring to the fact that Muslim people consider dogs to be ritually unclean. Therefore, if this chucklefuck had to choose between Muslim people and dogs, he would choose dogs.

[–] usualsuspect191@lemmy.ca 22 points 2 weeks ago (5 children)

Like, as pets? As members of society? What role does he imagine these two groups are interchangeable in where there'd ever be a choice to make?

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 19 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

It's a dog whistle (more of a bullhorn tbh). He's trying to say Muslims are less than dogs. Obviously a disgusting statement

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It's just hate for non-whites, it's that simple, it's never been more complicated than that.

[–] DakRalter@thelemmy.club 1 points 2 weeks ago

Has anyone told them that Jesus was brown and middle eastern yet?

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

In the imaginations of every conservative, the brown man from abroad is here to enact sharia law by replacing the white christian population.

Never mind the fact that this kind of strategy would take generations to actually have any noticeable impact on the demographics of America, and we would all be long dead by then.

But they like to think that it's happening right now, because victimhood is the only thing that ever seems to turn conservatives out to the polls.

[–] Hadriscus@jlai.lu 2 points 2 weeks ago

Right, that's the question. We need some preestablished lore

[–] Hadriscus@jlai.lu 2 points 2 weeks ago

Well at the restaurant, of course. "think I'll have a muslim. to go"

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 weeks ago

The usual: murdering marginalized groups.

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 23 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Kristi "Ke-bork-ian" Noem begins sweating profusely from the strain of trying to figure out which answer he wants to hear.

On top of the base layer of fucked-up-ness, using the idea of dogs like this is unconscionable. They're too sweet and pure to be shoe-horned into bigoted bullshit.

[–] Nasan@sopuli.xyz 4 points 2 weeks ago

She'd put bullets in both, but would see if the dog was trainable for hunting first.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 15 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

A person who has to ponder about whether a pet or human is more important should not be allowed in leadership over people.

This remind me of a friend I knew who was homeless and a bit of an addict. He could not get anyone to work on his teeth so they were in really bad shape and he ended up losing them years later.

While he was a grown adult, who was responsible for himself, he did ask his parents for help (paying dentist directly, of course). His mother cited thousands of dollars in vet bills as a reason she could not help. His parents were very well off.

I can't even with people anymore. They would let a homeless person die of exposure, but would happily take in a stray until they find it's owner. Our priorities are truly fucked.

[–] unmagical@lemmy.ml 15 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I mean, he's not wrong, as much as I love dogs, I value the life of (most) humans much more.

Him vs dogs on the other hand ...

[–] lennee@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

if the trolley is about to hit a dog a muslim or this dude im taking this dude every time

[–] Glide@lemmy.ca 15 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Funny, if I had to choose between Randy Fine and a dog, I don't think it would be a particularly hard choice either.

The difference however, is that I'm judging someone on their words and actions, not an obtuse understanding of cultural and religious affiliations. Because that would be racist, much like Randy.

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 14 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

You can't just go around murdering and raping people throughout the ages without dehumanising them a little bit first at least.

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago

"You can have a little dehumanization, as a treat."

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

But we aren't even talking about the crusades or modern Catholic church here, are we? Think you're in the wrong thread.

Shame-edit preserving prior content above: I see what you're saying, yeah, shouldn't do that either.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 13 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

i don't think keeping muslims as pets would be very ethical. Dogs are a better choice.

[–] lol_idk@piefed.social 8 points 2 weeks ago

Well if he's taking about eating, I may have to agree with him

[–] Ioughttamow@fedia.io 4 points 2 weeks ago

Tough choice for Noem if it’s only 1

[–] FreddiesLantern@leminal.space 4 points 2 weeks ago

Contrary to popular belief Randy is in fact not fine.

[–] technocrit@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

~~Casual~~ Genocidal racism

Let's be real here. It isn't casual when fash say this stuff. This serves an ongoing genocide.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

And the sad part is that they only reason hates Muslims nis because he was told to hate them by his political party
