Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

He had like a dozen standing ovations from a room half full with sycophants. It was mega cringe

I didn't watch it but let me guess what he said:

  • He is the best president that ever existed
  • Everything is going great
  • But everything that doesn't is Biden's fault
  • He is a poor victim of everyone being against him
  • Threaten a few people and countries
  • Something racist and something sexist

Don't forget using one off super specific ~~props~~ people to fit his narrative.

The one person who was surprised when their kidnapped family member was brought back to the states pissed me off. They could have been reunited hours or days before, what a fucking turd to use the speech as the time to do it.

He learned politics by being on a game show. It makes sense in that context. Also in the context of him being a moron.

He actually said "Donald Trump is the best president that ever existed" because he talks about himself in the third person, like an asshole

[–] SoloCritical@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

I genuinely can’t tell if you’re kidding..

[–] ShadowRam@fedia.io 12 points 6 hours ago

You forgot, waste speech time on other people's victories/achievements in an attempt to make things look overall positive.

Like the rescue efforts, after you've set things in motion for disasters to even happen in the first place.

Oh, people actually tuned in and gave him numbers? Fuck this guy and this regime, I will never recognize Donald Trump's or any of these chucklefuck's authority.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Noone has to tune in to give him numbers, he makes up his own and anyone that dares to say he didn't pull those numbers get's the stick

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Damn I was hoping not to have to answer that part. :P

Wait till the midterms, Stand out on the corner and look at an ICE truck passing by, count to 3.

[–] agent_nycto@lemmy.world 11 points 4 hours ago

When it was live I saw it recommended on YouTube and it was only like, 100k at most on one of the streams, something like that. I assume a lot of bots.

[–] theunknownmuncher@lemmy.world 29 points 6 hours ago

I've stopped watching him. Not that it wasn't always obvious, but him speaking at Davos to European leaders and an international audience made it super extra clear that he really has nothing else to say besides his broken record "everything is great, I stopped all the wars, everything bad is Biden's fault"

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 4 points 5 hours ago

I'm so shocked that he didn't mention the Epstein files!!! /s

Did anyone expect him to? I'm sure it's getting hard for even him, a cold blooded lying psychopath, to claim innocence with a straight face.

[–] jhy001@toot.community 8 points 7 hours ago

@vegeta? #ConvictedFelonTrump 's behavior wrt the #Epstein files proves to me that he is GUILTY of things in them that he is terrified of becoming public! Q. E. D. Keep digging! #Politics
