What psyops? The panel on the right should be blank, they are not doing any.

2002

Kudos to them for using adult Britney and not when she was a child...

The sad part is they're not even trying, and it's apparently fine, we never needed propaganda or psyops at all, turns out you can just take over the whole country and launch meaningless wars and steal ALL the money and nobody will do anything about it.

Seriously where is the “peace in the Middle East” quasi mtv bootstraps for the children?

Back in the day will smith was rapping about how this shit matters…

Now a majority apparently disagrees with the current shit yet media is totally silent.

Straight captured…

Liberal order across the globe is dying, the reasons are complicated but a lot has to do with the spread of information... and misinformation, and the capacity for capital to reach people directly and influence whole populations via technology.

I'm sure smarter people than myself are researching this to a much greater degree than myself, but I was vindicated at least when Mark Carney spoke at the WEF and gave an absolutely insanely blunt message, which paraphrased said basically "The old illusions of order are fading, the cruel will now prey on the weak."

Our "first world" nations are now a part of this feeding frenzy as different factions scrabble for power and control over select ideological groups, not physical borders. As a result, the old traditions of activism and collective action are being replaced by cynicism and nihilism as more and more people realize how little control they really have, and only want to stay in their bubble-universes.

Will Smith isn't going to rap about an issue that a marketable segment of the population might not agree with, not when AI can be used to make Will Smith rap about anything you personally want to hear, or just be made eat ALL the spaghetti for your entertainment. The market is the last power standing. Our world going forward, until it breaks, is just a world of markets fighting each other and there is no rule system or international law to reign it in. They ARE the international law.

We have about a century of techno-feudalism ahead, and not the cool kind where you get hands that turn into swords and shit, it's more the kind where society slowly declines, people live in shanties and eco-refugees flood across the world until the markets finally collapse and are replaced by something else. By that time, it will probably go one of two directions: worldwide collapse back to a weird mixture of iron-age warbands and pockets of ultra-high-tech castes living in corporate fortress-states, or something like super-AI will just shred everything we know into an unrecognizable world.

I disagree. Russification isn't inevitable. Organize. The current leaders in the US are blatently hostile to the working class. Find a middle ground with your class and start building a movement from the grass roots, starting with your hometown.

Just imagine how silly all those Bush 2 era ghouls feel. All that effort spent faking evidence for WMDs, faking a presentation to the UNSC, months and months of effort spent manufacturing consent.

Turns out you can just skip all of that.

What an extra generation or 20 years of right-wing propaganda can accomplish.

To borrow from the enemies own lexicon: if we don't turn off their cathedral, the mechanisms on which their ideology are dependent on for survival, they're going to destroy the world.

Please don't make fun of the mentally ill.

Ive never been physically attractive but I kinda identify with Britneys journey. Like there was so much hope and opportunity in 2002 and now im just... tired and sad in my bones.

This meme resonates with me not because I find her situation funny, but because I also feel broken.

also she looks a lot happier with two knives

[–] galoisghost@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago

I agree this is very unfair on the US Government it’s not their fault they are mentally disabled.

Just tell them Jesus wants them to kill brown people (who are closer to him in ethnicity and, much more importantly, belief than the average American Trinitarian, lol) and they won't question shit. Real men kill random people on the other side of the world!

[–] CXORA@aussie.zone 2 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

The fact that convincing people that a failed prophet would want them to commit murder is a viable strategy is such a stark indictment of religion in general.

Idk if I agree with all of that, but it's at least an indictment of those who act that way and whatever their beliefs are (if they have any besides "blood for the blood god"). 🤷

soldiers were lectured that this is a holy war, Trump was anointed by Jesus and this will lead to Armageddon

[–] ArgumentativeMonotheist@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, I heard. 😔

Morals and the teachings of Jesus, and Trinitarian faiths, have been disassociated pretty much since forever (Jesus was not a Roman Catholic, after all), but this is some next level shit. Or, perhaps, not really... I bet Richard the Lionheart told his crusaders the same shit.

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Doubt Jesus would be cool with double tap bombings on schools and hospitals.

Pretty much everyone besides maniacal psychos wouldn't be cool with it, Jesus would flip the fuck out.
