The vehicle behind Fuller is Prototype Two of the Dymaxion Car built in 1933. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dymaxion_car#Prototypes_One,_Two_and_Three

Ok, fine. So now I want a Dymaxion 4 that is all electric, has safety features like they never thought of in the 30s, and doesn't track any of my activities, please?!?

As he was well-known for his dome structures, the ball-like class of carbon molecules, buckminsterfullerene and fullerene, respectively, were named in honour of him.

This looks like it would cook you in the summer.

Apparently the idea was for it to be outfitted with solar panels in at least several of the holes.

The 1938 version was cooler looking. Design wise if he'd moved the front wheels up and shortened it a bit the stability problem would have gone away. And 30 mpg in 1938 was pretty impressive, just not as big a selling point when gas was a nickel a gallon.

Nominative determinism when your name is Gaudi and you do aesthetics.

And there’s me thinking yank tanks were obnoxious for taking up city parking space.
