  1. DO NOT DOXX YOUR KIDS - Seriously, use an alt for this comm or keep it vague; otherwise we’re centralizing info about everyone’s kids into a single place that can be easily focused on.
  2. No jokes about dead kids - I don't care how much the romanovs deserved it, or how right John Brown was, save it for another comm.
  3. No antinatalism struggle sessions

kid laying on the grass outside just before it's time to go home: "daddy, the floor is lava.... but I'm laying in the lava... and I'm ok"

ok little one, time for bed lol

Hardcore weekend of park play time has turned into an ear infection today. Little Beaver just runs herself ragged playing, but enjoys herself so much. She's getting very good at pointing at body parts when we ask "Little Beaver, where is your nose?" Just generally a good listener, still working on saying words.

My child has decided that nights aren't for sleeping anymore and flipped to napping long during the day and being up half the night.... And it was going so well like 3 weeks ago. But that smile makes it ok :)

Had a random super warm day so took the kids outside a bunch. They just love jumping in puddles and playing outside so winter is a bit tough with how cold it gets here.

We had a few nice days here and these kids are just itching to get our side too. They spent a good part of the afternoon outside yesterday. Got some park time in after school too. We even got out to prep the yard for gardening. Very ready for spring over here!

What a week... Our well pump died on us this week after what I learned was almost 40 years of service. It was a cool $3400 to get it replaced. Sadly the new one isn't rated to last that long. "They don't make them like this anymore" is what my plumber told me.

That has wiped us out for now... We'll recover, and I take some solace knowing we don't have a water bill, just this one large upfront cost.

How's everyone else doing?

Frustrating but not having a water bill must be so nice!!

Our issue right now is car repairs. AC is out, need new tires, need a new windshield. We live in a place that is extremely car dependent, so as much as I’d like to switch to a bike it’s just not possible. Gas is already getting pretty painful too. Ugh. We’ll be ok but it’s going to get tight I think.

I hear you. My car needs breaks and I just had the coils replaced which isn't cheep. Then this happens... Very annoying!

Yeah I've never had a water bill. Before I bought the house we were renting and utilities were included. I can say I'm happy having my own source of water. I really need solar lol. Everything in my house is electric. Solar + replacing the baseboard heating with a heat pump system would be killer. The upfront costs though... Not realistic currently.

Yeah... Where does the time go?

Having today off sick and maybe tomorrow if a doctor will let me because why not? I also had a car run into me on the ebike because unc was stopped in front of a pedestrian crossing but was on his phone so not looking when he took off. I didn't get knocked off and the bike's fine but it's in getting checked anyway.

The kids love grapes at the moment and one of the poor things yesterday ate so many he threw up. He's been really worried about being sick recently because he threw up the other weekend for no reason as well
