Great message, but don't use the star of David as that implies Jews in general. Use the Israeli flag specifically.

[–] godsammitdam@lemmy.zip 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Not the artist, and I don't disagree with you. But the flag prominently features the Star of David, so I can see why the artist would have used it.

Arguably, the Israeli government is a major reason for growing antisemitism with how hard they're working to blur the line between the government and ethnicity. A simpler person won't draw the distinction.

Definitely, but they used the full nazi flag for the nazis, but then only the Star of David for the Israelis instead of the full flag. That is weird and can lead to wrong assumptions.

Absolutely, no argument there

Never Again, for some people means we never tolerate genocide again, nowhere, no how.

And for other people Never Again, means never to us again.

The Jews said "never again" and the allies nodded while they transferred the queer people in concentration camps to their own prisons. Hell, according to the 1948 definition of genocide, queer people can't suffer a genocide unless you define queer identity as a political ideology (which is exactly what the bigots want).

One day everyone will have always been against this

[–] DupaCycki@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

And you'll get to say 'told you so'.

Yeah, I wish... Everyone will be like 'how was I supposed to know?', and you'll be called a conspiracy theorist that happened to be right.

Fuck Israel

The only good genocide is my genocide

Yeah pointing on a person with a David star on his hat, not antisemitic at all.

I mean... Israel is the one that chose to put it on their flag. What other symbol would you use to represent this particular nation, who's government (not religion) is committing a genocide? The shape of the country?

[–] ReluctantlyZen@ani.social 1 points 4 days ago

The full Israeli flag, just like the artist uses the full nazi flag. Singling out only the star when they didn't single out the swastika is odd.

Germany adopted this flag during their genocide, therefore the symbol on the soldier's helmet:

Israel currently has this flag, therefore the symbol on the helmet:

It's less of a double standard when you realize they agreed with Hitler this whole time

Sort of?

The Stern Gang (Lehi) tried to join the Nazis with the states goal of fighting the British.

After Stern was killed by the British, his gang was led by a man who later went on to be the Israeli Prime Minister in the early 80s, he was also Netanyahu's political mentor.

The second guy, whose name I can't be bothered to remember, pulled back from actively trying to ally with the Nazis, but the "academic" wing of Lehi did start using the words "god's chosen people" while pushing some race science with some obvious file marks where a serial would normally go.

But that's just one very influential side of the story.

Mossad assassinated the other side back in the 90s.
