The obsession with the Three Gorges Dam comes from a frothing desire to murder millions of people for not bowing to western hegemony.

They already have the ultimate safeguard against it being destroyed. Nuclear missiles. Cope and seethe.

USAID cheques must be bouncing.

Destroying it will be so effective, it'll wipe out billions of people through the following nuclear exchange. But I'm sure the edgelord Hitler bot brigades and genocide enthusiasm squads on X will celebrate.

But but.... Simpsons showed that China uses bread as construction material. Bread loses integrity when wet. How can it still be up?

[–] kleeon@hexbear.net 40 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The bread is EXTREMELY stale

[–] SchillMenaker@hexbear.net 20 points 2 days ago

That's where the centuries come in

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 14 points 2 days ago

China uses bread as construction material

That's just in the north, in the south they use leftover rice as a construction material very-smart

[–] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 8 points 2 days ago

It's dwarven bread. It is exactly as edible after a century as when it was baked.

is "white desperation" the tone they're going for?

It's a 180m tall slab of concrete that is 115m thick and holds 39 billion cubic meters of water. It can withstand a small nuclear bomb.

Good luck.

[–] Tabitha@hexbear.net 12 points 2 days ago

imagine if they tried it and all the result was that the dam produced 5% less energy until the repairs finish.

[–] CliffordBigRedDog@hexbear.net 40 points 2 days ago

it would basically take a nuke to destroy it too

[–] Flyberius@hexbear.net 29 points 2 days ago

Good luck even getting a B2 there.
