Don't share it here, there are other places to find it. Discussion of piracy is fine.
We don't want us moderators or the admins of lemmy.world to get in trouble for linking to piracy. Therefore, any link to piracy will be removed. Discussion of it is of course allowed.

Maybe it's nostalgia bait, but I don't care. I hate the minimalist era that we've been in for awhile. Give me 80s or 90s styled stuff any day.
So yeah Stranger things was pretty good.
Unless it has 'under new management' on it, I don't think anyone is going to care.

That's cool I wish they would unveil Elder Scrolls 6.
It's been longer since that teaser than the time between Skyrim's original release and the teaser.
I thought for sure you were wrong but that was EIGHT years ago.
I maintain to this day that they had barely started on anything relating to the actual game when the teaser was released, and it was entirely just an attempt to save face from FO76's disastrous launch.
Yeah, I once heard that in the video game industry, you start pre-production of a title about a year before you get started with proper development (a.k.a. "production").
So, pre-production means brainstorming the game concept, theme, maybe initial concept art, maybe some prototypes etc..
But to quote Wikipedia:
The game entered pre-production by 2018, formally being announced during Bethesda's E3 2018 conference. The game entered active production in 2023 following Starfield's launch.
So, presumably they kicked in pre-production for a few weeks in 2018, specifically to produce that trailer. And then put it back aside and didn't really get started until 2022 or so. 🙃

Hello, I come from the future, please tell your Floridian friends to vote Blue in the next election (and ask them to tell the same to their friends). Just a few hundred would suffice.
Trust me, it's really, really important.
Now that they finished the logo they can get to work on it.
It matches their overall nostalgia farming corporate strategy. Looks very retro. Maybe it can get some to buy yet another version of Skyrim.
I refuse to call Skyrim retro.

I too think we‘re long past the point of calling games that released as recent as 15 years ago retro because they simply don‘t evolve in the speed they used to.
Imagine looking back at 1993 when you’re in 2008. Yeah, that’s a huge leap in technology. But look back at 2011 now and you realize that stuff doesn‘t feel nearly as ancient.
From all I know a game needs to be at least 20 years old to be considered retro these days. That‘s the most common definition you will find these days.
Why would anyone buy a game, because of a company logo?

Yes! A few weeks ago they released a statement saying they were still working on the elder scrolls 6
Look how long it took Team Cherry to make Silksong, and look what we got for it. Maybe this is a sign that ES6 will be a masterpiece and won't be a buggy mess propped up by a rampant modding community willing to put in the work to fix it all.
The incentive structure is wildly different between the two.
Team Cherry is a small team of passionate developers. Bethesda has grown into a corporate monstrosity that drains developers of their passion to push out slop.

... look, I know they'll eventually release ES6. The problem is the people expecting it to live up to ANY hype when NONE of the previous games have EVER been great on their own without mods...
3 4 and 5 are all great without mods, haven't played the earlier ones

Looks like a joke logo you see for a split second among hundred others in the mock credits of a Gaspar Noé movie.
I thought that said battlefield and was excited for a 2142 remake. It's been a long day.
