Yep, the GQP is now in the final stages of terminal autocannibalism.

Pass the popcorn!!!

I hope you're right, but I wouldn't get too excited. Their hate for minorities and the poor unites them in the end.

[-] sudo@lemmy.today 12 points 10 months ago

Hey, don't forget women.

[-] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 52 points 10 months ago

Start sharing the Revenge porn of each other in the house bathrooms.

I'm sure Gaetz has been taking some creep pics.

[-] nul9o9@lemmy.world 29 points 10 months ago

Wasn't there a whole thing about GOP orgies? Start leaking those vids.

[-] Wrench@lemmy.world 13 points 10 months ago

Thanks. Now I taste vomit.

[-] sndmn@lemmy.ca 12 points 10 months ago

What kinds of women go to Republican orgies aside from sex workers and Russian operatives?

[-] Baahb@lemmy.world 22 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Women? Who said anything about women?

[-] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 4 points 10 months ago

The pizza place with a "basement" story is all projection.

[-] stewie3128@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago

That's how they got rid of Madison Cawthorne (who was himself a total piece of shit like the rest of them).

[-] Lemminary@lemmy.world 49 points 10 months ago

I'm so shocked you guys. This is my shocked face.

[-] Everythingispenguins@lemmy.world 22 points 10 months ago

Does it look like this? 🤣

Great, more trashy republicans to talk about. She's the new Boebert? Also, that joke wasn't funny, a traitorous coup isn't a riot.

[-] trash80@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 10 months ago

She's pretty pro-choice for a Republican.

[-] mosiacmango@lemm.ee 12 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

She used to be in a swing district. She won her first election by 1%. Then they gerrymandered the state more, and she won the next by 14%.

She has just recently leaned into the alt right with gaetz and bannon, so she most likely has polling that is the most politically safe thing for her to do.

[-] trash80@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 10 months ago

Well, that's disappointing.

[-] nautilus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 10 months ago

I get what you mean but christ, is that where we’ve set the bar?

[-] athos77@kbin.social 37 points 10 months ago

McClintock [concludes], “I modestly suggest that you plan your martyrdom in the only way that truly matters: to have the wisdom to see the damage you have done to our country and to have the courage to set things right before it is too late."

Pot, kettle.

Everything conservatives write sounds like that sovereign citizen tryhard faux legalese. Like there comes a point where trying to be too eloquent just makes you sound fucking dense.

[-] kromem@lemmy.world 13 points 10 months ago

Wheretofore thy tweeted such odorous slander, I shalt duel you at noon by manner of TikTok. May the goodfellow with greater likes be deemed the victor.

I love that Republicans have had absolutely zero policy since basically Nixon and the one time in modern history it really mattered cuz of America's debt ceiling not only can't they do it but they fuck up the speaker position on top of it????? Lmfao.

This is like dunking on your own basket. Or scoring on your own goal.

I think being funny requires some basic level of intellect. That “Scarlet Letter” stunt was the absolute epitome of dumb! There is no way she read that book and thought, “oh yeah, that’s like the swamp I live in! Gotta make sure I push my point through by admitting to Adulty!”. I know that supposes she can read but give me a fucking break! Is performance of their idiocy equivalent to the level of stupid that have achieved? They have succeeded in unlocking “complete fucking idiot”. What does she really think an “A” on her low neck tshirt means? I would love to hear her Ted talk on that one!

[-] Boddhisatva@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

To be fair, some of her lines were great. She's a loon, of course, but she has some comedy chops.

After 15 rounds of voting for McCarthy.

I mean, come on! But let’s be honest. We all knew that Matt Gaetz would never let the vote get to 18.

Regarding Gaetz not being there.

I do have a message from Matt this evening. He really, really wanted to be here tonight, but he couldn’t find a babysitter to be his date.

Regarding McCarthy's concessions to win the gavel.

I haven’t seen someone assume that many positions to appease the crazy Republicans since Stormy Daniels.

Those are comedy gold.

[-] trash80@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 10 months ago

This sure is an unexpected development. How could anyone have predicted this would happen?

[-] hperrin@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago

This was inevitable, and I'm so happy to see it.

[-] raynethackery@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago
