"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"
A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.
AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

This subtle yet pedestrian take on Pizzacake is bad really adds something to the discussion, I feel.
I guess I'm OOTL. Why should we hate Pizzacake?
(copy/paste:) I've read the following arguments:
It's fashionable among chuds to be offended by her, because she attacked the chuds.
I had enough of stans protecting her obviously low-effort cut-and-paste comics with "tHeY hAtE hEr bEcaUse shE FemNisT".
We hate shovelware.
I like pizzacake exclusively because of how much she annoys people who could very easily ignore her.
Agreed. Low-effort comics made popular because she buys upvotes.
She's a pompous, argumentative cunt. She and I had a big exchange on that other site a couple years ago.
She's buys upvotes on Reddit and bans anyone who points it out.
Where do I sign up to get paid for upvotes?
If that’s the loop, I’ll stay out of it. Pizzacake roolz.
You can google it but the summary is that she handles criticism pretty poorly. Also, her jokes are mostly not even a joke. Most of them are straw man clickbait.
What a pearl-clutching take. Also known as:
Maybe, just maybe, don't attack a comic?
Ah, a straw man argument. Now where have I seen this type of rhetoric? XD
I have never "attacked" or said anything to pizzacake, and she did react pretty poorly when other people did. If you don´t believe me, google it yourself.
That's... not a straw man argument. Here's a convenient definition to help you out.
My theory is that you wouldn't know how she reacts, whether poorly or otherwise, without her first being attacked.
Maybe, just maybe, people shouldn't attack the person just because they are snowflake about the content of their comic.
Except that it is? You literally added a quote of something neither I nor anyone else said ("After I attacked her, she reacted in a way that hurt my feelings") and then provided your own reply for it justifying her response. One her real reactions, btw, was portraying her "attackers" as rapists. You did not quote any "attacks" nor her response, but justified it nonetheless because people were "attacking" her.
Criticize != Attack
As a refresher, here's what a straw man argument is:
If you don't see how your reply fits that definition, I'm afraid I can't help you.
Her comics are typically very surface level takes on political issues, where she knows her audience will agree with her. There's very rarely any humour in her comics, and her fans will not accept any criticism of her whatsoever.
Mostly people post her work because it agrees with whatever viewpoint they hold.
People spread things that they agree with, yes. Spreading ideas we believe in is why we evolved to communicate in the first place. Ironically, talking about it as if it's some novel take is very similar to how Pizzacake made a comic about AI being bad. It's like, yeah, we know. At least with the comic it's humorously exaggerated so we can get some amusement out of it. Make a humorously exaggerated comic about a pandering cartoonist and I'll enjoy that, too.
Valid critique but have you ever talked to a PISS advocate that describes all of them too except the pronoun
Why would I post something I disagree with? Except for when I wanted to show how bad its reasoning is?
