"New china" is new by the standards of china. it's been han, and chinese-speaking, since longer than many european countries have been whatever they think they are (england being "english", spain being "spanish", etc.).

the basis for this whole thing seem to be historic government control rather than culture or ethnicity or history?

actually someone should make a similar map for europe, it would be funny and make a lot of dorks really angry. the longer somewhere has been controlled by rome or one of its supposed successors, the more "european" it is.

  • Rome, Greece, Istanbul: Old Europe.
  • Levant, Northern Italy, Moscow, Balkans: New Europe.
  • Spain, France, British Isles, Germany, Austria: Sort of Europe
  • Scandinavia, Netherlands, Poland: Not really Europe

edit: Balkans deserve to be in the category of New Europe, they're more european than Germany

edit 2: I'm pooosting

New China means its 2000 years old instead of the usual 4000, its like how the new kingdom of egypt is 3000 years old

New City in south Italy exist for like 2500 years. In Czechia there are twin towns of Old Boleslav and New Boleslav, which were founded few years apart, but it was over a thousand years ago.

Europe is pretty much Superior Iberia. Actual Iberia is Real Iberia ie royal Iberia, UK is Isleberia, all of Germany+NL+Scandinavia is Supercracker Iberia, anything east of that is Iberiovska or barely Iberia.

North Africa is Araberia

"iberia borea" is a very funny set of syllables

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 11 points 1 month ago

Forgot about Italy and France. I like iberia minor for Italy. France is Punished Iberia
