Every part of China in this image that he claims is "not really China" has more age and legitimacy as being part of China than the United States where Noah resides and nationalistically simps for has legitimacy to exist at all.

[–] Wheaties@hexbear.net 31 points 1 month ago

Optimistically, most of the comments to this were pointing that out.

Pessimistically, I looked at twitter comments to learn that.

"New china" is new by the standards of china. it's been han, and chinese-speaking, since longer than many european countries have been whatever they think they are (england being "english", spain being "spanish", etc.).

the basis for this whole thing seem to be historic government control rather than culture or ethnicity or history?

actually someone should make a similar map for europe, it would be funny and make a lot of dorks really angry. the longer somewhere has been controlled by rome or one of its supposed successors, the more "european" it is.

  • Rome, Greece, Istanbul: Old Europe.
  • Levant, Northern Italy, Moscow, Balkans: New Europe.
  • Spain, France, British Isles, Germany, Austria: Sort of Europe
  • Scandinavia, Netherlands, Poland: Not really Europe

edit: Balkans deserve to be in the category of New Europe, they're more european than Germany

edit 2: I'm pooosting

New China means its 2000 years old instead of the usual 4000, its like how the new kingdom of egypt is 3000 years old

New City in south Italy exist for like 2500 years. In Czechia there are twin towns of Old Boleslav and New Boleslav, which were founded few years apart, but it was over a thousand years ago.

Europe is pretty much Superior Iberia. Actual Iberia is Real Iberia ie royal Iberia, UK is Isleberia, all of Germany+NL+Scandinavia is Supercracker Iberia, anything east of that is Iberiovska or barely Iberia.

North Africa is Araberia

[–] plinky@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago (2 children)

italy is iberia minor, france is iberia alta, poland is iberia borea

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 16 points 1 month ago

"iberia borea" is a very funny set of syllables

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 11 points 1 month ago

Forgot about Italy and France. I like iberia minor for Italy. France is Punished Iberia

[–] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

I'm Arabering all over the place

istria is old europe, you heathen

[–] Krem@hexbear.net 13 points 1 month ago

[–] Euergetes@hexbear.net 43 points 1 month ago (1 children)

do a map like this for the US boss

[–] kristina@hexbear.net 38 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

the color scheme on this is crazy, a light color for 1000 years of habitation?? lmfao many european languages havent even existed that long

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 26 points 1 month ago

Yeah, imagine putting countries like America, Canada, and Australia together with this in a chart. I get the feeling it would change the color gradient of the entire image, like a form of white balancing.

If 100-200 years is negligible then what does it mean for Ukraine Noah

[–] Rod_Blagojevic@hexbear.net 13 points 1 month ago

Good point. I watched the events leading to the creation of the Ukrainian state on live color TV.

There is something really wrong with this guy. He once posted a strange "white woman who only dates indian men" meme. The orientals are on his mind 24/7.

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago

Always confuses me when I see that. It would take these guys way less time, effort and energy to just not be a racist shithead, they could actually go and accomplish something with themselves instead of complaining about us-foreign-policy all day. It just seems like a massive waste of time to me, even putting aside how gross and foul these people are.

[–] Carl@hexbear.net 23 points 1 month ago

using years controlled as the benchmark

cool now do that map for America

[–] SpookyBogMonster@lemmy.ml 21 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This is like saying that India should be balkanized because southern India speaks a different family of languages

[–] regul@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

Balkanize every country to heighten the contradictions of borders.

[–] CarmineCatboy2@hexbear.net 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Every part of China in this map is claimed by Taiwan.

[–] GoodGuyWithACat@hexbear.net 20 points 1 month ago

I wonder what this guy's thoughts on isntrael is

[–] sewer_rat_420@hexbear.net 18 points 1 month ago

Imagine having an American AND Ukrainian flag in your bio and posting this drivel.

[–] DasRav@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

I am sure these people are chomping at the bit for land back in the USA then. Principles are so important after all.

[–] plinky@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

now do not really amerikkka by that criterion

[–] segfault11@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

"sort of china" is one of the most centrist millennial phrases to be cooked up

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Clicked the link to go give my two cents to this dipshit and discovered I am known

[–] Lowleekun@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is this guy a troll? If I look at this map I see that China is based and anti imperialistic AF. All stuff they hold seems to be older than the Yankee Reich. That's quite crazy with how big they are.

It is cool and sad. The more I learn about China the better it gets, the more I learn about Europe the worse it gets. Yet I am doomed to live in Europe that once again goes down the shitter and I don't even deserve sympathy, standing on a big ol pile of imperialisms murdered victims.

Time to seek out local communists for organization. That way I am at least first on the train to the new camps.

[–] Salah@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

Organizing the way to stop feeling defeated by all the terrible things that happen in the name of imperialism because it allows you to channel your anger into productivity, gives you a sense of purpose and it provides you with comrades who feel the same way as you.

Results may vary depending on which organization you join and how well it fits your worldview and skillset.

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago

Noah continuing to have shit opinions that liberals take seriously

[–] CloutAtlas@hexbear.net 13 points 1 month ago

Tibet is yellow, therefore it's not historically Chinese

Taiwan is yellow, therefore it's the Republic of China and a legitimate state

[–] yunqihao@hexbear.net 12 points 1 month ago

Most of these numbers seem directly pulled from his or at least someone's ass. I didn't realise 1240 was only 360 years ago. But even taking them at their word China has controlled pretty much all of its territory since before the burger reich existed.

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It looks like a weird dick and balls

Why does it look like a weird dick and balls?

[–] plinky@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago

cause rice grows in the balls

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 9 points 1 month ago

Do you think these guys who use a Dr. Strangelove picture have actually seen the movie? Or maybe they have seen it and just completely missed the satire of it.
