Is that really how YouTube works? On Twitch, I get thrown random gifts subs from channels I've watched for like two minutes or possibly not at all, and I've never heard of gift memberships being automatically refunded. Seems strange that they'd just pass up on money for no reason.
Yeah it would be a weirdly pro-consumer choice for Google of all companies.
