I'm very sympathetic because I have had almost all the same symptoms during/after methamphetamine binges and I can't imagine having to live like that all the time, poor guy.
It's clearly not just because of his tourettes syndrome. Ethan has admitted to having pill problems in the past and his demeanor and physical appearance clearly point to substance problems of some sort. Could even be just abusing GLP-1s. Is that really how YouTube works? On Twitch, I get thrown random gifts subs from channels I've watched for like two minutes or possibly not at all, and I've never heard of gift memberships being automatically refunded. Seems strange that they'd just pass up on money for no reason.
Yeah it would be a weirdly pro-consumer choice for Google of all companies.

Of course it's mostly rumors. There are individual reports from H3H3 fans stating they were getting refunds for their gifted subs and people who are anti-Ethan and haven't watched the stream in years were receiving gifted subs.
I really think their viewership is low enough that the amount of subs bought on Monday was more than they could give away. They would have to toggle on the "allow gifted memberships" option in YT to receive them.
