Oh yeah sodium is going to feel great when it starts reacting with water.

Group one metals like sodium are spicy when they touch water. The further down the column you go, the more explosive it can be.

Tc will be discovered in 2028. It is below Francium on the period table. As inflation rose and taxation keeps hitting the lower class they discovered it in a food lab while experimenting with grade E meat. Thus they named it Taco. They first thought it was a bit like Potassium, but they found out there was no cesium in the picture...

I'll see my way out

Tc is already taken, it's Technetium and was discovered in 1828.

How about Tb (TacoBellium)?

[-] _stranger_@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Terbium.

Maybe Dt? (DelTacorium)

Suddenly the DT's have new meaning.

I don't know about sulphur, but sodium is highly reactive with water

[-] leftytighty@slrpnk.net 0 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Sulfur is also an element, it's not made of anything

EDIT: i guess you meant sulfur is dangerous when mixed with water. I thought you meant this forms sulfur.

drink chlorine

That’s a chilly beverage. Might also want to microwave your sodium to counteract the cold.

[-] maniel@sopuli.xyz 13 points 2 months ago

Just pour some how water over it

[-] pixelscript@lemm.ee 5 points 2 months ago

In the microwave of evil?

[-] BreadOven@lemmy.world 24 points 2 months ago

Chlorine is a gas unless it's very cold or under quite a bit of pressure (~7.3 atm). Plus sodium would react pretty quickly with moisture in the mouth, good luck chewing it. Is there a "science shit post" instance?

I'm glad to see they took that outside the environment before they did that. :|
