Happy to see an outwardly socialist candidate receive this much support. Hopefully they'll be solidified as a 'third party' candidate like Cornel West and Jill Stein. Tired of them being ignored by the mainstream media while a less popular candidate like Cornel West is given spotlight, little as it may be.

Honestly very cool, imagine if all 100k were organizing together. We can make that happen!

That would entail talking to other communists in real life....

spoilerwhich I rarely get to do and would really enjoy.

If you tried applying in the past and nobody ever responded, I recommend trying again.

I'm hopeful. The PSL I know are nearly tireless.

The PSL I know are nearly tireless.

We are fueled by the immortal science of Marxist-Leninism

I voted for them

Nice they surpass the 80k from last election

[-] RedWizard@hexbear.net 14 points 3 weeks ago

Isn't this the most votes an explicitly socialist party has ever received in the country?

[-] thelastaxolotl@hexbear.net 26 points 3 weeks ago

Nah, Debs got a million im sure

[-] machiabelly@hexbear.net 16 points 3 weeks ago

He got 10% of the vote while in prison iirc

[-] CleverOleg@hexbear.net 3 points 3 weeks ago

And California has only counted like half the votes, that probably another 30-40k there at least.

[-] HelltakerHomosexual@hexbear.net 7 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

im not so positive lol

[-] Zuzak@hexbear.net 44 points 3 weeks ago

Write-in votes tend to be processed slower, I assume. My county has 95% reporting with zero write-ins, but I know it has at least one.

[-] Sulvor@hexbear.net 21 points 3 weeks ago

Same I’m waiting for mine to show up

[-] cosecantphi@hexbear.net 36 points 3 weeks ago

I voted for her in California, but she was listed under the Peace and Freedom party. Is there a reason the party's name is different in California?

[-] Inui@hexbear.net 32 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Is there anywhere to see a breakdown of how many votes they got in states that had them as write-ins? As far as I can tell, they still just lump all write-ins together, official or not.

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 21 points 3 weeks ago

Ditto, I'd also like to see how the greens did.

[-] Feinsteins_Ghost@hexbear.net 15 points 3 weeks ago

They were write-ins in Texas.

I voted for them

I need to email my election clerk for this, because her votes aren't published in my state

[-] Coolkidbozzy@hexbear.net 30 points 3 weeks ago

I voted 90000 times

[-] Dr_Gabriel_Aby@hexbear.net 29 points 3 weeks ago

Now I feel dumb for writing in Joe Biden

I voted for them in Texas as write in candidates.

[-] MemesAreTheory@hexbear.net 22 points 3 weeks ago

They were a write in in my state. My County has just shy of 400 write ins recorded, and I'm one of'em. I wish there was more granularity about those names given that PSL had "official" write in status, but none yet.

[-] WalrusDragonOnABike@lemmy.today 22 points 3 weeks ago

Any idea how socialist parties did this year compared to the last few elections?

[-] Josephine_Spiro@hexbear.net 35 points 3 weeks ago

PSL got 86,239 votes last election

[-] Palacegalleryratio@hexbear.net 41 points 3 weeks ago

Right so given a c.25% each election rise they should surpass the republican 72million votes in the year 2144.

[-] Justice@lemmygrad.ml 22 points 3 weeks ago

That aligns perfectly with the 100th anniversary of... oh... it says here "doomsday"? That seems fine and like humanity will be here and very fine.

Maybe the terrestrial squid-creatures that develop after we irradiate every inch of the earth will finally abolish the republicans for good

[-] CleverOleg@hexbear.net 11 points 3 weeks ago

It’s, uh… the 300 year anniversary of Marx’s *Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844”.
