One of them is now invisible and one is super stretchy, the third one is on fire all the time.

[-] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago

Well, he’s not technically on fire all the time, but he is a flaming asshole, if that’s what you meant.

[-] makingStuffForFun@lemmy.ml 29 points 1 month ago

Xenomorph. Definitely a Xenomorph.

[-] wildbus8979@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

As long as it's not Xenumorph, I think we're good

[-] gAlienLifeform@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

~~Boeing's incompetence may have hurt our astronauts, we are not good~~

e; Bad assumption, turns out the Starliner crew is still up

Checking for Body Snatchers.

[-] Damage@feddit.it 2 points 1 month ago

Bad idea bringing a xenomorph host planetside

Realistically: They spent more than 180 days, after that milestone shit gets weird. Men start to go blind, muscle mass stops being able to be maintained, spinal disks goes weird, fertility is permanently negatively effected, etc. It's invaluable data to study then even if they aren't reporting symptoms.

Conspiracy: they're space zombies now.

Who had the Andromeda strain on their 2024 bingo card?

[-] satanmat@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

We’ve had one pandemic, but what about second pandemic?

[-] elvith@feddit.org 4 points 1 month ago

Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a flu

One of the crew, who has not been identified, was “briefly detained” at the hospital but was released “in good health” to continue what it called post-flight reconditioning, the US space agency said at the time.

This is not news. It was probably not even space-related.

[-] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 6 points 1 month ago

It's absolutely space related, there are serious health problems associated with even a couple months in zero-g.

[-] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago

Goo bones? I bet it’s goo bones.

Smh :(

[-] halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Nah we've had astronauts in space much longer than they were. This is something different.

The only thing I can think of is some issue with differences or incompatibilities between the Starliner suits and the Dragon capsule that either weren't accounted for or more likely had no alternative given the situation.

Astronaut suits are custom made for each individual, and each manufacturer has their own system. They accomplish the same task, but in slightly different ways.

[-] cmnybo@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 1 month ago

The Starliner crew is still on the ISS. They return with crew-9 in February.

[-] halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Huh, wonder why I thought they came back already on a Dragon.

[-] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 month ago

Because it's ridiculous that they've been stranded for so long!

[-] EleventhHour@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I was just kidding, of course :P

[-] argh_another_username@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 month ago

Are they reporting strange things like ‘my car was red and now it’s blue’ ?

[-] Nougat@fedia.io 22 points 1 month ago

That's just because the car used to be driving away, and now it's driving towards them.

[-] metaStatic@kbin.earth 20 points 1 month ago

Roses are red Roses are blue depending on their velocity relative to you

[-] theturtlemoves@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago

Considering what happened to the last two whistleblowers, I wouldn't want to piss off Boeing either.
