Inside of you there are three wolves. None of them have read Marx

Read Marx.

I will never read. I'm not even reading this site, I've hooked it up to a TTS-machine that slavishly reads out all text on the page. It does not follow linebreaks, instead it breaks up the entire screen on horizontal lines and then reads out each letter individually. When every letter had been pronounced individually it scrolls down then continues until the thread has been emptied. I then gather each letter in my mind palace and parse their meaning. Thus I avoid liberalism

I asked my mom and she's a highschool teacher and she says this still counts as reading

sorry

Capitalism is when you have treats.

Socialism is when you have a treat.

Communism is when Stalin eats your treat with his spoon.

I mean, what even is a "Dictatorship of the Proletariat" anyway?

[–] Findom_DeLuise@hexbear.net 25 points 2 years ago

I dunno, sounds authoritarian maybe-later-kiddo

The amount of idiots i've come across that think it means actual dictatorship is insane

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 13 points 2 years ago

"A dictatorship of everyone except the 20 people we all hate"

What's hilarious (or depressing) is that nearly 100 years ago now Americans still had these fucking brainworms. In 1936 Anna Louise Strong wrote:

Most Americans shrink from the word "dictatorship." "I don't want to be dictated to," they say. Neither, in fact, does anyone. But why do they instinctively take the word in its passive meaning, and see themselves as the recipients of orders? Why do they never think that they might be the dictators? Is that such an impossible idea? Is it because they have been so long hammered by the subtly misleading propaganda about personal dictatorships, or is it because they have been so long accustomed to seek the right to life through a boss who hires them, that the word dictatorship arouses for them the utterly incredible picture of one man giving everybody orders?

amerikkkans have never had a mindset of taking matters into their own hands and being the ones to dictate their society.

When your political understanding doesn't extend past the "Two Cows" poster in middle school.

Capitalism is where everything is owned by an individual

porky-scared That's just not fair! Everything is split between 4 or 5 of us at least!

...

porky-happy For the time being

[–] SeventyTwoTrillion@hexbear.net 13 points 2 years ago

was gonna say that, bit of an unintentional admission when they say "an individual" as opposed to "individuals"

[–] NewLeaf@hexbear.net 19 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

I saw communism defined on reddit-logo today as "when one corporation owns everything and the people suffer under it" as opposed to now where a small few own everything and make us suffer.

Did not engage.

[–] Redcat@hexbear.net 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

just ask 'what if two corporations own everything'

[–] NewLeaf@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

For whatever reason, the conversation didn't center around the idea that corporations shouldn't own everything. Steering it there was just going to get me nowhere. I have a head cold today, so if I wade back into that comments thread somehow, I'll post a link.

[–] Redcat@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

just sound them out for how many corporations owning everything is fine with them. is it 6 or maybe 7? because thats about right nowadays.

[–] NewLeaf@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago

For real.

All you ever get when you expose their ignorance is "that's Russian talking points, sweaty" maybe-later-kiddo

[–] SexUnderSocialism@hexbear.net 18 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

The politics understander has logged on. very-smart

[–] MerryChristmas@hexbear.net 14 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I am genuinely curious how they came to this conclusion.

[–] Egon@hexbear.net 20 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Well I did hide the full story, they were actually correcting another users idea of what capitalism, socialism and communism is

[–] MF_COOM@hexbear.net 15 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] Egon@hexbear.net 14 points 2 years ago

I upbeared you after, I swear sweat

[–] KobaCumTribute@hexbear.net 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It's entirely possible they were literally taught exactly that in a poli-sci class, or at least a highschool civics class. All of those are just basically just brainworm infestation programs.

[–] Egon@hexbear.net 9 points 2 years ago

Imagine studying poli-sci. "Yes I have a master's in being propagandized"

[–] WhyEssEff@hexbear.net 12 points 2 years ago
[–] Catradora_Stalinism@hexbear.net 12 points 2 years ago

[–] GivingEuropeASpook@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago
