Kennedy is the most popular president. The people love a leader with a bullet through the skull. If a president wants to be popular they should follow in Kennedy's footsteps.

I have a feeling it has a lot more to do with his good looks and womanizing than his policies, and I suspect a great deal of it might be "well he must've been pretty good if they felt the need to shoot him"

What are even his accomplishments?

  • Not doing nuclear war
  • Wanting to go to the moon
  • ???

Not getting tricked by the CIA into invading Cuba

Though he notably got tricked by the CIA into making convertibles a lot less popular.

Yeah they really hate when people don't fall for their tricks

Him getting killed halfway thru the term meant he couldn't do a lot more terrible things for which he could be remembered

JFK's popularity is from 60 years or hagiography

[–] Hexboare@hexbear.net 15 points 2 months ago

Legitimately true, he wasn't very popular at the 1960 election

JFK won the reported national popular vote by 112,827, a margin of 0.17 percent

Also very good for the next person

LBJ won the largest share of the popular vote for the Democratic Party in history at 61.1%. As of 2024, this remains the highest popular vote percentage of any candidate since the advent of widespread popular elections in 1824.
