illegal-to-say

I haven't heard anything from my district about this scenario. Other districts in my state are only just now communicating to families that they are working on guidance. Thankfully, I live in a sanctuary state, so I don't believe this guidance will be like OPs from this post, but man, I am fuming over the idea of being told any of what they were told.

This is just so depressing, man.

I know... I'm not sure if I should be more or less concerned by the fact that I haven't heard anything from my district yet.

Unironically the kids could blockade the ICE trucks. What is ICE going to do, arrest an entire school of kids? Then the parents get involved...

[–] Moonworm@hexbear.net 53 points 1 month ago

I think we're pretty close to that honestly.

What is ICE going to do, arrest an entire school of kids?

agony-deep you know they will

If there ever was a catalyst for an insurrection, it'll be parents literally gunning for ICE to get their kids. Ulvalde parents were unarmed and had to be arrested to keep from charging into the school.

It would be a certified Luigi moment. luigi-dance

Yeah if ICE agents start arresting citizen children that will not go well for them

[–] Comrade_Mushroom@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I sure hope all they do is just arrest them.

If they are that stupid, the results will be worse than the aftermath of the Kent State shootings.

Some teachers have guns now, right?💁

[–] Infamousblt@hexbear.net 36 points 1 month ago

Was gonna say, actually now I am in favor of arming teachers if they're going to be defending their kids from ICE

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 28 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Probably not in the places where ICE is gonna roll through

[–] JoeByeThen@hexbear.net 26 points 1 month ago

Eh, probably not places the strapped teachers would stand up for the kids more likely.

Got an email from corporate today. It essentially just says "send all immigration questions directly to legal and do not provide any further information". Very based. Very sad they had to send it at all.

Reminder that there are literally thousands of accounts of sexual abuse of children by ICE agents on file

[–] TheGenderWitch@hexbear.net 18 points 1 month ago
