Summary

Trump is reportedly frustrated that deportation numbers are lower than expected, pressuring ICE officials to accelerate arrests and removals.

His administration set a goal of 1,200–1,400 daily arrests, but actual figures have fallen short, sometimes below 300 on weekends.

ICE leadership, including "border czar" Tom Homan, has expressed dissatisfaction with the pace.

To meet Trump’s pledge of "millions and millions" of deportations, removals would need to exceed 2,700 per day.

I sure hope he does not give himself an aneurysm or have a panic attack over being such a failure.

[–] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 19 points 5 days ago

What a gift that would have been.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I do.

Preferably while at a rally or press conference, and immediately after sharting in his diaper.

~~after~~ while

Unfortunately, this is a worst-case survivorship bias. Generally, the angru fucks that are going to die of a brain aneurysm don't make it to his age.

The ones that do have pretty much already battle-chested their brain vessels.

[–] Mozingo@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Do you mean battle tested? Lol

[–] bizarroland@fedia.io 1 points 5 days ago

Fuck, I did. That's what I get for using voice to text.

[–] painfulasterisk1@lemmy.ml 21 points 5 days ago

I'm angry too. Trump should deport Elon.

Does Trump think there’s a spreadsheet of undocumented workers where you can just go to their house and arrest them? Or that anyone who works for ICE can sort and filter a spreadsheet?

They did raids on Chicago first, possibly the city least likely have undocumented works.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 19 points 5 days ago

"What do you mean there's no documentation for the undocumented immigrants?!"

[–] Dragomus@lemmy.world 12 points 4 days ago (1 children)

You're forgetting he made up "the millions and millions of illegal immigrants crossing the border"

Which, to him, are all living together in halls and single decrepid buildings and easily picked up.

He envisioned the numbers and now must make them exist, or at least make the deportations logically match up.

Ofcourse it's not going to line up so he'll find new victims, next targets will be freshly awarded green cards, to be checked for discrepancies like spelling errors or those with recent adress changes, or say any green card holder who committed a small crime like jaywalking in the last 10 years.

But hey, it is good for the unemployment numbers!

... Hitler also targeted others besides jews, gypsies, colored, disabled people, all under the pretense of danger to and burdens on the society ...

The first modern hospital — as in science based and not getting your humours balanced — to provide gender affirming care was opened in Berlin in 1919. Not a lot new they’re doing.

Many of those undocumented immigrants file taxes with a TIN instead of an SSN with the hopes that doing so will prove that they're here to contribute to the country and aid in their case for immigration. Unfortunately, that means they're on a list.

Edit: the law does not allow the IRS to share this information with ICE, however we can tell that the laws aren't working right now... "Section 6103 of the Internal Revenue Code states that the IRS is not authorized to release taxpayer information to other government agencies except for providing information to the Treasury Department for investigations that pertain to tax administration, or under a federal court order related to a non-tax criminal investigation. "

We checked everywhere in St. Louis and it turns out, it’s not even close to a border. They would have had to take a ferry boat from the Port of New Orleans and win a few poker hands.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

It's right on the border! Misery on one side and Illinois on the other!

/s, but not really as I'm sure that they are going to try to lock down interstate travel

[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 23 points 5 days ago

This is how you start deporting citizens who are Hispanic.

He’s like Stalin demanding for more names on his list

[–] frezik@midwest.social 15 points 5 days ago (3 children)

They can't. ICE doesn't have the manpower. That is, unless they get military assistance.

Current people in charge of the military won't go along with it. Trump will need to purge them and put lackies in charge.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 13 points 5 days ago

lackeys*

(In case you want to use this word somewhere that spelling matters)

[–] Nightwingdragon@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

This is not entirely the case.

In theory, Trump's deportation goals could be met by ensuring that the US is so hostile to illegal immigration that immigrants already here choose to return home willingly rather than be deported by force. Trump would certainly prefer it that way, as he would take credit for all of those numbers as well, without having to worry about actually expending resources deporting them or dealing with the backlash that comes with forced deportations, since they'd be leaving on their own.

Now I don't know if there's a realistic way Trump could make the US become so hostile that immigrants start willingly packing up and leaving by the thousands per day, but we all damn well know that he's going to try.

And if he can't, he'll save face by going full WWE and just making up the numbers as he goes along. Not like his rubes actually have a way to check. Or even know how to count that high. Or how to count.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 9 points 5 days ago

... that immigrants already here choose to return home willingly rather than be deported by force.

They're a lot harder to count that way.

Or you know maybe brown shirts.

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago

The shit this guy gets off on.

[–] RattlerSix@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

They should raid all the trump properties that employ undocumented workers

[–] randon31415@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

Biden deported from places that wanted to deport people, like Texas. Trump is focusing on places that restrict cooperation with ICE. They have/had the same man power to do the deportations. Of course Trump's numbers are going to be lower.

[–] eran_morad@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

Start with that whore Melanie. No, musk first, actually.
