Hey, I just came up with this cool idea for alternate WWII history: what if America was invaded and overtaken by a horde of greedy white supremacists bent on conquest and extermination?
This should be a clear message to even the hogs "BEING WHITE WONT PROTECT YOU FOREVER".
Even the nazis were willing to murder thousands of their own master race if they didnt do what their wanted or when it was convenient to. The weapons and method used to murder others in the third world, will one day be used on you!.
This whole story just reminds me of all the European/white people I know who are used to experiencing zero friction when traveling internationally. She said the word you must never say when you're on a tourist visa anywhere: work. Everyone I know who is a poc knows that, because we've been questioned harshly at every passport control.
The last line of the article is crazy, too. "If I had lied, I would be in Canada right now". I feel really shitty for her, and no one should go through what she went through, but at the same time goddamn when are white people gonna learn that you gotta keep your wits about you, especially when traveling internationally.
White people (in particular the richer ones) dont experience discomfort or "not being able" to. Its a foreign feeling to be so observed or "visible".
Remember to teach your kids when to lie.

So this park/border is near where i used to live and the reason it's called "peace arch" is there's a literal arch with a gate that's left wide open. The inscription on the arch is "may these gates never close" as a symbol of the alliance between the US and Canada.
I used to think, as a kid, just weld it open.
The statement always read more like "please don't close the gate, America" when i got older.
To be honest - I somehow missed the oddity and symbolism and of people getting arrested at a peace arch. It was only after looking at a Bluesky comment that I thought to myself "How did I miss that???"
This is not purely coming from Trump. This is the mindset of the demons that work at ICE merely let loose by Trump.

Breakfast – which for Becky was cold potato and a sachet of peanut butter, the only vegan option – was at 6am.
