Least corrupt president in US history.

[–] adespoton@lemmy.ca 28 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He’s draining the swamp with a pump and dump!

[–] drspectr@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

They’re going to be light years ahead of us at making pregnant Sonic images.

[–] pixxelkick@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago

This genuinely made me do an IRL spit take, holy shit.

Nothing like going to mar a lago and eating a 1 million dollar dinner. We need laws against this type of corruption

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago

The only people capable of applying such laws are the very same corrupt people you want to have subject to such laws.

How is this not massive news?

Faux News had to jump through 100 hoops and do all sorts of gymnastics to connect Biden to some Ukraine business to claim he was corrupt and every fucking Magoo knows the Hunter Biden laptop... Trump just straight up says "PAY MY RESORT $1 MILLION" and then changes policy in your favor and that's not corrupt?

[–] 0x0@lemmy.zip 58 points 1 month ago

TL;DR Bully got Bribed.

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 39 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Pay to play. Trump is full blown criminal now. This is only going to get worse unless something stops it.

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 27 points 1 month ago

Now? He's been since the 80's

[–] werefreeatlast@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

We just need a big ol name tag thing... "The golf of Trump" or Trump city USA man!

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 37 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The US is a dirty little whore.

$1 million-a-head dinner

I can't even imagine what that would look like. Surely the ingredients can't be that expensive? And while cooks and staff probably are paid very well, are they gonna spend so much time on a single dinner to warrant that price?

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 47 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

The actual food and service is probably only maybe a couple hundred to a couple thousand/plate

The rest of the price is the "donation". The tactic itself is not bad, many charities and fundraisers do the same thing, charge a hundred or 2 (if it's an event for us pleebs) per person for food and the event and the rest is your donation.

What the donation is for is the problem here

[–] musubibreakfast@lemm.ee 13 points 1 month ago

Absolutely not, we're talking about a man who serves fast food to athletes.

[–] felixwhynot@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

I’m betting it’s more like a fundraising dinner — you’re not paying that price just because of the food

[–] Rubanski@lemm.ee 3 points 1 month ago

Salt Bae was the chef

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 24 points 1 month ago (2 children)

So do you think there will be any consequences for these businesses just outright buying US policy after Trump?

[–] otp@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 month ago

Yes, there will be consequences. Things will get better for those businesses!

[–] Cocodapuf@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

How could there be?

[–] Thorry84@feddit.nl 19 points 1 month ago

I bet it was the jacket that sealed the deal

[–] Petter1@lemm.ee 8 points 1 month ago

How can people support such corruption…

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

nvidia hydroponic tech grows chips 20% faster, bigger, and juicier

[–] 0x0@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

High-end chips? I'm guessing TSMC in Taiwan.

[–] felixwhynot@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I think some of the memory chips might come from SK or Japan, not sure tho

[–] Sixtyforce@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

Hell.

Wait they renamed that place.

Earth, I think.

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemm.ee 5 points 1 month ago

Oh wow, what are the odds?

[–] jeena@piefed.jeena.net 4 points 1 month ago

That's a good investment Jensen.

[–] socialmedia@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Imagine not being aware how pathetic you look when someone bribes you. What's that dinner like? Rich people always worry about their status. Who's more important, who has the most money? Trump sitting down to dicuss this for a million dollars. A million dollars is so cheap to them. They must be laughing on the way home at how easy it is to manipulate him.

banning exports and then waging war over them not importing enough and then unbanning the exports and then saying thanks and then posting something edgy on social media
