“The changes posed by drones are so fast that concepts we implemented just a month ago no longer work now,” said an infantry battalion commander, whose call sign is “Cuba”, with the 13th Khartiia brigade.

Khartiia is one of two fascist corps btw, it's not a brigade. The National Guard of Ukraine was recently reorganised into two 15,000 member Corps. One is Azov Corps (azov brigade no longer exists and is now a much larger fascist-led corps) and the other is Khartiia, also fascist-led.

Here is a picture of a Khartiia ceremony.

This interview is conducted with fascists.

Liberal media would explain it as "to intimidate Russians" or some bullshit like that.

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago

it's to troll them!

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 40 points 1 month ago

CIA taught them how to do theme lighting.

that's about division size, unless ukraine uses smaller size for corps
2 fash divisions making up the national guard corps

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 19 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Ahh yes i stand corrected, either way not a brigade anymore. 2*15,000 fascists running are the entire national guard and they perform the same role the SS performed, they are not frontline deployed.

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 32 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I can't tell if that's Zelenskyy or some guys cosplaying Zelenskyy.

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 25 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I think Ukrainian fash just look like that.

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 28 points 1 month ago

This interview is conducted with fascists.

It's western news media interviewing Ukrainian soldiers, this is a redundant line.

[–] DefinitelyNotAPhone@hexbear.net 20 points 1 month ago

Ah, so that's where the leftover Brotherhood of Nod sets ended up!

ussr-cry Blackest reaction indeed marx-doomer

[–] sleeplessone@lemmy.ml 15 points 1 month ago (3 children)

What is that ominous symbol on their flags? I can only assume it's something fashy like the wolfsangle, but I don't recognize it.

It's stylised bow and arrow in square shape. Why Ukrainian nazis would use typical steppe symbol is unknown to me so it's 100% dogwhistle for swastika.

[–] Sinisterium@hexbear.net 9 points 1 month ago

It seems very much based on the ww2 nazi turkestan volunteer badge

[–] LoveWitch@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

ChatGPT, please draw me a swastika that doesn’t look like a swastika

It looks like a space marine logo

Holy fucking shit this does look 100% like some evil Warframe or Wolfenstein faction, and libs are juicing themselves over it.

[–] T34_69@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago

Lol they look like the bad guys in x-com 2, wouldn't be surprised if they're a bunch of giant snakes under those human skins

[–] merthyr1831@lemmy.ml 3 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Just like clockwork, the fascists took the opportunity of the crisis to place themselves closer to power. Expect these two factions to make light work of any post-war government

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 3 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm quite sure that they're a major component of the problem for bringing an end to the war. How do you form a post-war government when there's a 30,000 strong national guard of fascists that will coup it immediately?

The only way to bring peace to Ukraine is to eliminate the organisations of nazis. This guard will need to be disbanded as part of the peace agreements and then any insurgency they hold will need to be fought to destruction.

[–] merthyr1831@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 weeks ago (3 children)

absolutely. If Russia's "denazification" rhetoric were to be believed (which we shouldn't believe at face value) then this should be a shared goal between Zelensky and Putin. Especially if the former wants to survive the war with his head.

Love the propaganda around Russia. In one source they're saying the Russian army is direly undermechanized and using wheelbarrows and horses for miles for logistics and the Russian army will soon collapse, and the other source says there's hyper deadly drone swarms and the end is nigh

I'm just like ok look at the map seems Russia has the most territory so.... 🤷‍♀️

Russian President Vladimir Putin is skilled at escaping the optics of defeat.

Putin will accept no responsibility for setbacks on the global stage. He always acts the victor.

Do you think the authors of these articles know that they are lying? Do they know how utterly delusional that they sound? Or do they just live in a complete fantasy alternate reality just like the run-of-the-mill regular libs?

[–] yogthos@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 1 month ago

I always wonder about that as well, can somebody be so utterly deluded or do they have to know deep down.

[–] Horse@lemmygrad.ml 43 points 1 month ago (2 children)

modern warfare is so fucked

[–] SchillMenaker@hexbear.net 20 points 1 month ago (3 children)

People are making these drones in their homes. Modern domestic terrorism is also fucked.

[–] D61@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

People are making these drones in their homes.

Real "Ministry of the Future" vibes here.

[–] darkcalling@hexbear.net 1 points 1 month ago

Human shields. As always with the west every accusation a massive projection of their own psychology, actions, and wants.

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 35 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

It's nuts that they fly while attached to a 10 km long fiber optic cable. Corded drones! 🤣

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 24 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Fuck offfff there's no way they're doing fly by wire at that range surely?

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 33 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (5 children)

cable that can extend 10-20kms

I wonder how strong it is, and what kind of waste is left on the terrain. Do they retract the cords after the explosion, to avoid giving away their position?

[–] carpoftruth@hexbear.net 30 points 1 month ago (1 children)

No, the fiber wire stays out afterwards. It leaves a huge mess. There are photos of busy fields and hedge rows on telegram with a spider web of wire everywhere

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 30 points 1 month ago

Shit. It looks like it has the strength of fishing line. That can't be good for wildlife.

Apparently it provides "a perfect video feed".

Fucking gamers and their FPS. 🙄

[–] Mindfury@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago

complaining and getting moved to a different division because their drones have 165hz monitors and you're only getting 30fps on an android tablet

[–] Meltyheartlove@hexbear.net 21 points 1 month ago

I didn't know there were fiber optic cable missiles wtf

[–] LuigiMaoFrance@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Just like Evangelion fr fr

[–] Outdoor_Catgirl@hexbear.net 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Some missiles have wires like that but drones are a lot more manuverable. Do they get caught on things this way?

[–] MarmiteLover123@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

If the spool has the ability to spit out wire fast enough (faster than the drones top speed) with minimal latency (the spool can accelerate faster than the drone) it shouldn't be an issue with getting caught on static objects. The main concern would be getting the wire caught on moving objects, like cyclists/motorbikes, cars, tanks, etc. Then you could end up with scenarios where the wire can't be spooled out fast enough due to the movement of the object the wire is caught on. Apparently when Ukraine tested out this concept, they had big issues with that.

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

From what I understand of Russian telegrams that discuss this, fiber optic drones are most effectively used when you control the high ground (as with artillery). If you launch from the highest position in the surrounding 20km radius then you can hit wherever you want without the fiber optic cables touching anything outside of power lines and trees. If you use it in an urban area it's very different tactics.

It's pretty smart, prevents jammers from working and is cheap
