I will upvote this every time. “We would like to hear more about how you are using Allegra” is absolutely priceless.

[–] AliasAKA@lemmy.world 62 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Pharmaceutical companies are actually legally required to find out if you’re misusing their product or taking it in an undirected way, and report that to the FDA. Well, has been that way historically, anyhow. If you even work for a pharmaceutical company and you overhear at a weekend barbecue that someone has not taken a dose or doubled a dose etc, you’re obligated to report it within 24 hours.

[–] Remorhaz@lemmy.world 30 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yep, I used to have a special card I had to keep in my wallet. It had a special number for them to call, and half of it had space for me to write down details (who/what/where) in the event I couldn’t get them to call

Is no one allowed to have fun anymore?

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 month ago

We were never allowed to have fun; it's always been a guilty pleasure at others' expense.

We're just so interconnected now that we often hear whose expense it is, which may or may not offset your fun.

That's actually kind of wild

I haven't seen a recipe for Allegra Chicken on the box so I'm not sure that person contacted Allegra.

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Reminds me of the one with the 7-11 gecko (or some animal) near a soda station. And 7-11 replies "can you tell us where this is so we can check on him and make sure he's safe?" And they're like no I ain't a snitch.

[–] Deflated0ne@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I recognize that Netscape logo cool guy.

How's your knees? Mine are fuuuuucked.

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 4 points 1 month ago

Ugh. I was literally just laying down in bed andy knee hurt. Literally zero pressure on it or anything. I'm only 33! It's not fair!

[–] InFerNo@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 month ago

So they can steal the recipe hmm hmmm

Idk why ppl do antihistamines as recreative drugs like fr

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 47 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Because they're psychoactive in higher doses and readily available in lab quality. Not saying it's a good idea but that's really all it takes for something to be used as a drug.

[–] EvilHankVenture@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

The lab quality bit is optional.

Why would you inflict on yourself dysphoric hallucinations on yourself if you live in a country where dextromethorphan is otc (which is not even my case, as well as antihistamines)

[–] andros_rex@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Broke/desperate/high schooler. Mom and dad probably won’t notice if the Benadryl goes missing. The Hat Man makes sure that you only make that mistake once.

Think about how many kids huffed banana peels because of some text file Anarchist Cookbook they found online. There are probably dumbasses that fell for jenkum.

How else are you supposed to meet the shadow man?

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I think it's mostly a meme, but I'm sure some people might.

[–] TimewornTraveler@lemm.ee 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

yea there's even a specific diagnostic code for it in the DSM, F19 other substance use disorder, where in the criteria antihistamine abuse is explicitly mentioned (and DXM/Kratom are not mentioned, even though they get the same code and are more widely abused in the USA!)

Thanks. Now that would be interesting, but I would not try it, thankyouverymuch.

[–] bytesonbike@discuss.online 19 points 1 month ago (4 children)

It's allergy meds that people take to help them not sneeze.

But whenever I take it, it makes me drowsy.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

So the question is: on what kind of drugs did OP overdose to invent that recipe?

[–] boonhet@lemm.ee 5 points 1 month ago

Chicken seasoning

[–] scarilog@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Brand name for fexofenadine hayfever medication. If you don't live in the US you probably know it under a different brand name.

[–] TommySalami@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I miss that local sexpot

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 24 points 1 month ago

Amazing what food coloring and a joke can accomplish lol

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 17 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] Aggravationstation@feddit.uk 26 points 1 month ago

Given that the chicken is purple I'm going to say no.

[–] Console_Modder@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

But does it taste better than sleepy-time chicken?

[–] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 month ago

Just raid the medicine cabinet for seasoning. Don't follow a recipe, go with vibes. Try that jar of cough syrup, a little rubbing alcohol and hand sanitizer should help with mouth feel, what was that pack of pills that you just knocked in? Oh well, just a happy little accident.

[–] TassieTosser@aussie.zone 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

So this is what the kids are doing these days. What happened to good old cough syrup chicken.

[–] outhouseperilous@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Cuisines evolve over time. As they should. Have you seen ancient roman recipes? Shit's vile.

[–] seejur@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Tasting history w Miller on YouTube?

[–] FuckFascism@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

THEY'RE TRYING TO STEAL HIS SECRET RECIPE!

[–] offspec@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This starting half way through made me really worried that I'd started this video before

[–] lazycouchpotato@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Oops had the wrong timestamp on the video! Fixed it.

[–] spankinspinach@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 month ago

I, too, wish to know where this is going

[–] swab148@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I wonder if it's like, good at all...
