Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

That's... too bad? Anyway, I'm making nachos for dinner.

[–] SinningStromgald@lemmy.world 43 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Yeah the plastic surgeons are heart broken. Anyways, what kind of nachos? I like to get the scoops and make little nacho cups.

[–] MagicShel@lemmy.zip 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm using Doritos but a scoops is a killer idea. I have to try that.

[–] OldManBOMBIN@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I've taken to eating sour cream and onion ruffles with spicy bean dip lately. Not exactly nachos, but the flavor profile is pretty nice

Love the edit with photo. It’s nice to know we can trust something online, even if it’s only that !MagicShel@lemmy.zip actually delivered the nachos.

e: missed a word

Recipe for nachos:

Pile up chips, other stuff from around the house, and cheese, in that order.

Hot until cheese looks yum.

Apply: Red and hopefully spicy, green, or white toppings.

Scarf.

Magic Nachos

Prep time: ~15 minutes

  1. Brown some ground beef
  2. Add taco seasoning (per instructions) and 1/4 cup of water. Simmer for 5 minutes or so.
  3. Arrange Doritos attractively on plate
  4. Sprinkle with taco meat
  5. Top with your choice of: diced tomatoes, black beans, diced onions, jalapeños
  6. Sprinkle with a generous layer of shredded Mexican 4 cheese mix.
  7. Microwave for 90 seconds.
  8. Put in face hole.

Oh I forgot the lengthy story of how my grandma used to make these nachos when her terrible neighbor who used to shoot dogs got sent to the hospital. You'll just have to make a family tradition of your own!

She’s a conservative drama queen. She couldn’t be upstaged like that.

[–] LillyPip@lemmy.ca 60 points 1 year ago

Oh no. I hope it’s something serious.

What's she allergic to so we can be sure to deliver it to her in huge quantities?

Hopefully she's developed an allergy to Botox...

That'll affect her for a looooooong time.

[–] athairmor@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Probably just injected a little too much Botox.

Eh...

Silicone... Botox... Caulk... Whatever... 🤷‍♂️

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 31 points 1 year ago

I will bet you all $5 in gringo money that she had a split-second moment of clarity about how she is absolutely going to hell when she shuffles off this mortal coil, had a panic attack, and just needs a way to blame immigrants for it once she regained her normal line of corrupt and abhorrent thought.

She is alert and recovering,” said DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin.

This administration lies about everything so hopefully this is not to be believed.

^bummer^ So I just discovered the VINWiki car channel on the tube, gotta say their stories are pretty good. One was about a dude who bought a smuggler’s truck. Not a bad channel at all.
