im a leftist. now rather than saying anything a leftist would say let me write an essay about how everything the left says is wrong.

[–] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 26 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Does she been even consider herself a leftist still? She's been criticizing them for so long I think she'd be happy with being called a liberal at this point.

One good thing resulting from Oct 7 has been all these annoying libs who were calling themselves "leftists" have run away from the label once it became clear the left stands with, and has always stood with, Palestine against the forces of imperialism. Whatever form that might take.

"Oh no I can't accidentally be associated with the correct side on something!" - liberals

She had tea with Hillary Clinton

If you actively seek out the company of Hilldawg or Billy for any reason other than to fedposting or relentlessly shit on them, you're not a leftist

i'm not sure if she's ever called herself a leftist. she made cogent criticisms of fascists and people just assumed she must at least be a democratic socialist.

Any "leftist" that points to the fact that "we have accomplished nothing" in regards to this issue is not using Marxism or Dialectical Materialism. Its a perfect example of a rapid qualitative change (the inevitable end of western/us support for the Zionist entity and its subsequent collapse) precedes by less perceptible quantitative changes (the general attitude of the people to Israel). Its impossible to deny how successful the pro Palestine movement has been at winning the hearts and minds of the people since oct 7.

Also, she acts like "the left" is spreading pictures/videos of the genocide. These are created and released by palestinians and their virality isn't because of "leftists"

But ultimately she shows that she values the lives of Israelis and Zionists way more than palestinians

It's to the point where even CNN can't deny the change in attitudes and their pundits are freaking the fuck out Benazir of that lol.

You'd have to live under a rock to not see the difference in attitudes to the conflict since before October 7, 2023. And changes in attitudes lead to people joining organizations and doing things, like the giant charities Noah Samsen or Hasan has done, the flotilla that headed to Gaza, Palestine Action's activities, Mamdani winning the primary, Zionist propaganda no longer being effective. It goes on.

She expects a Kardashian to hand an IOF soldier a pepsi and it ends the genocide

[–] sewer_rat_420@hexbear.net 4 points 2 weeks ago

This is why people who have this opinion are either very dumb or just want to see Palestinians die

If our enemies want to give us credit, I say we accept at least a little bit

[–] huf@hexbear.net 2 points 2 weeks ago

the left has clearly accomplished something, or she wouldnt have felt the need to come out with this zionist nonsense

If you don't immediately win, you shouldn't even try. ~Parable of Natalie Wynn

[–] glimmer_twin@hexbear.net 26 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

What was she originally talking about in this quote

[–] Sami@lemmy.zip 38 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

They dont want to be in power they want to endlessly criticize power in context of leftists

[–] Elysium@hexbear.net 24 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I would like to be in power. I would do a lot more than criticize her with power. Check back in after 5 years of growing rice and reeducation.

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 10 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Growing rice sounds nice, do I get to ride a tractor?

[–] Elysium@hexbear.net 12 points 2 weeks ago

Everyone who successfully finishes reeducation will get to drive the tractor at some point. But everyone also starts at the lowest position doing manual labor like digging irrigation ditches, whatever else like that. The tractor is only for those at the end of their journey almost ready to rejoin society

[–] D61@hexbear.net 2 points 2 weeks ago

Even better. You get to walk around in a pond or gently float round in a boat.

[–] HumanBehaviorByBjork@hexbear.net 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

true of some leftists, but from the mouth of a liberal it's a clear argument for the political program of Let's All Kill Ourselves.

Amazing how much some irrelevant lib's lib take is riling people up

Also lmao at "what would the pathway look like for Israel to stop existing" or whatever it's literally just universal suffrage

[–] CloutAtlas@hexbear.net 22 points 2 weeks ago

Why is everyone surprised that a YouTuber literally named after the Nicaraguan Contras [citation needed] is going to be reactionary? If she was called SandinistaPoints these takes would be surprising.

fine, i'm done caping for her i guess. jesus.
