But the boys of summer have gone...

[–] psycho_driver@lemmy.world 11 points 6 days ago

There's a good chance that if it's summer the boys are present. After summer, the boys are gone.

What a great last line.

I could teach you but I'd have to charge.

…And whether or not the boys are currently transitioning II Men.

[–] Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

If it has been raining men then they are probably in all the yards.

Fundamentally flawed of course - clearly you can crack a cold one in the yard all by yourself. The presence of the boys is not required, and in fact is a downside since they will consume your remaining cold ones and then go look for milkshakes without so much as a thank you ma'am.

The boys are not only back in town, but looking for trouble.

[–] burgerpocalyse@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

the boys are back to kill you

[–] ezterry@lemmy.zip 1 points 6 days ago

I was just assuming a yard glass of milkshake next to a yard glass of beer. Not sure the image went away when it became clear the author intended a suburban yard.

Fuckin’ Jack-of-all-trades Stan and Jimmy the Garbageman. Good shit

[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 54 points 1 week ago (4 children)

If you bring a milkshake in opposite backyards that are equally distant, will the boys be suspended between both atraction fields uncapable of moving as if it was some sort of lactic lagrange point or would both milkshakes repeal each other until their fields are no longer superposing?

[–] Dagnet@lemmy.world 18 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

It's an unstable equilibrium, any external force will disturb it and lead to the boys being pulled into one of the milkshakes

[–] Natanael@infosec.pub 11 points 6 days ago (1 children)

This implies a pair of rotating milkshakes can be used to suspend the boys

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Exercise 3.1: Compute the lagrange points for boys near two rotating milkshakes. For extra credit show that it's better than yours.

[–] Akasazh@feddit.nl 16 points 6 days ago (2 children)

'lactic Lagrange point' got my upvote

[–] bstix@feddit.dk 4 points 6 days ago

Aka cleavage.

The boys would follow the more tempting milkshake. One boy would divide from the group to scout out the less tempting milkshake at close proximity.

Not only if they're back in town, but also if they're the backstreet boys.

[–] Ste41th@lemmy.ml 6 points 6 days ago

I think they are the backstreet boys because I was at a pay phone trying to call home when I saw them on their way to the milkshake yard

[–] altasshet@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

At least we know for sure that they don't cry.

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Well of course they don't cry, they're imaginary.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

Are you saying they are complex?
