Uh what about God Of War V or Battlefield VI or Call of Duty XXVI

[–] kleeon@hexbear.net 15 points 8 months ago

Every new "game" is like the exact same thing I've been playing 15 years ago

Don't forget the basically tie in bundle game they released this year that they charge $70 for, what a great value! And the console only came out 5 years ago!

people actually like astrobot apparently

Shit my refusal to spend more a minute and vibes for bits has led me astray once more agony-wholesome

From what I've seen of it from watching GDQ streams Astrobot is basically the only 3d platformer that's actually improved on the genre in 20 years. It's also the most painfully cringe thing ever in terms of the narrative and the flavor of the content. A dev team went and made the only good modern day 3d platformer but wrapped it up in the packaging of a shitty toy commercial cartoon.

huh i wonder if there have been years where the best short film was a superbowl advertisement.

[–] Beaver@hexbear.net 3 points 8 months ago

Sure, but they need to release more than like one game a year for it.

God of War is a weird one to throw in given its Renaissance

[–] fox@hexbear.net 1 points 8 months ago

it's a legitimately good game but it's also an ongoing Intellectual Property instead of something new.

ill i’ll get a game console again when call of duty XXX comes out

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 24 points 8 months ago

Sorry for you, but I'm over here with Duckstation and potentially as many games as I can fit on a 700gb hdd, all for free.

they'll just blame biden for causing inflation by printing too much money (pay no attention to who was president in 2020)

[–] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 15 points 8 months ago

I guess I'll make the difficult decision to never buy a PS5.

Actually, that was a pretty easy decision. Fuck that shit.

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 14 points 8 months ago

it is with a heavy heart i must inform you we want to make more money

[–] VILenin@hexbear.net 14 points 8 months ago

I have no doubts that it was very difficult for them to stop at 550

[–] Orcocracy@hexbear.net 12 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

It’s just in the US and it’s obviously because of tariffs. But nobody can say that aloud in public otherwise it will make Trump feel upset, and we can’t be having that, apparently. He can hear you. He can hear all of you. And it’s making him upset.

Could be the first signs of Sony bombing out of the gaming space. Although I had always thought Microsoft would be the first to go.

[–] SevenSkalls@hexbear.net 2 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

If Trump is going to save a domestic industry, I don't want it to be Microsoft. I mean, more competition is good, I don't want Sony to have a monopoly either and it looked like Microsoft was trying to find a way to exit the console space recently, so in that way it can be good to have some enforced competition.

But on the other hand, Microsoft fucking sucks and is on the BDS list.

The treats WILL stop.

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 5 points 8 months ago

It was already highly priced in the first place.

It's not price fixing if they stagger it out like this.
