i would like to move on but chuds refuse to stfu about this so i can't stop thinking about it so here are some thoughts

until it happened, chuds were under this assumption that everyone left of hitler is a weak beta soythey/them who has never touched a gun and would break down at the mere sight of one. i recall when the second attempt on cheetoman happened, one of the chuds i worked with at the time was like (i'm paraphrasing) "well he didn't get the guy, so it must be a leftist, because us conservatives actually train with guns smuglord" (this guys sucks at shooting, i know because we were both at a work event at a gun range because that's what employment is like in the burgerreich and i can confirm this guy sucks despite dropping probably $20k on paper hole punchers). you even see it in their depictions of the most dangerous leftists as skinny black bloc teenagers wielding nothing more than skateboards. but now someone who they assume is left leaning (i still really can't tell what this guy's motive were) proved them wrong, which destroyed their worldview, and it's fucked them up so badly they have no choice but to turn into what they would call "gun grabbers" to feel safe again lol.

The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them. At Rotterdam, London, Warsaw, and half a hundred other places, they put their rather naive theory into operation. They sowed the wind, and now they are going to reap the whirlwind.

I think this event resonates hard with the Christian persecution complex. in addition to being blindsided like you suggest.

[–] SmithrunHills@hexbear.net 54 points 3 months ago

That's what happens when you conflate liberals and pacifists with leftists, as literally everyone and the mainstream has been doing

[–] CrawlMarks@hexbear.net 45 points 3 months ago

I dont think it is that deep. Trump got shot. No one really cares about Kirk. Conservatives are big on doing what they are told though. They are told to be sad, so they are sad.

[–] PKMKII@hexbear.net 38 points 3 months ago (1 children)

That’s pretty much what happened with the black panthers.

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 45 points 3 months ago

The Panthers represented something of a credible threat to the establishment, which this really doesn't.

I think Crowder, Shapiro, Fuentes, are somewhat panicked for obvious reasons. This could be them in a few weeks/months. I don't think Congress is as scared as they let on. Of course they're going to push for a higher security budget because that's good for them to have anyways. I don't think Trump really cares. He's already, allegedly, been shot. For Trump, it's an opportunity to talk his book and put on a show. I didn't really watch more than 30 seconds of this memorial but it looked like a Trump rally. While we are taken aback about how much they praise Kirk, that's not for him, it's for the person speaking. They're signaling that they're in on the scam. The higher the praise the stronger the signal. They don't really think he's Jesus, they're just showing daddy that they can give a speech and prove how much they hate the hogs who eat it up. That's really what the "panic' is for beyond the lowly workers in the podcast mines. RFK, Trump, JD, and whoever else aren't panicked. This is just an opportunity for all of them to add magnanimity to their resume and further strengthen bonds with/within the in-group.

The dupes at home pick up on this via social queues but don't actually understand what's really going on. They think it's real. I don't think they're very worried because this was just another thing they watched on the internet/TV. It didn't happen to them. But, for a lot of the same reasons as the people in power, they will perform signaling rituals to one another. It's just that the rituals are earnest. The hogs online will continue to talk shit because this is yet another thing that will not make them happy. Trump gets elected, they did not suddenly become fulfilled in life. Their necessities continued to be expensive, their taxes remained, there were still immigrants everywhere. But what they do have is liberals being mad Trump is the president. So they remind liberals that Trump is in power and everything he does is awesome. Spite politics is a distraction. This whole Kirk thing is just another opportunity to do that. They can't turn it into money like Trump can but they can use it to annoy everyone online and in person (Kirk cakes, Kirk coffee at Starbucks, etc). For the chuds at home, that's what this will be. Tyler getting lethal injection won't make them happy. Trump won't arrest the President of antifa. Their lives will continue to suck. Whatever fleeting genuine emotions they had will fade and turn into more spite and they'll use it to fuck with people online.

Yeah I've been thinking it's something similar. You gotta remember that to most chuds, their actual political ideology is an unspoken nebulous soup of white supremacy, while their outwardly facing political aesthetic is more like a roleplaying game to them. Or it's like being a sports fan. They like Trump in the same way someone might like the Baltimore Orioles.

Their true beliefs are that everything's fine, white conservative men own the world, and nothing will ever change. And nothing will change because white men rule society through masculine power or whatever. But once Charlie Kirk got assassinated, I think for a lot of them it broke that spell. Things suddenly became real and the footage was everywhere.

A lot of chuds are just being cynical and using Kirk's death to badger the left or call for more crackdowns, but I do think this might be a weird emotional moment for them. Chuds have been coasting on feelings of invincibility both politically and in their daily lives, and now they have video footage contrary to that. It's not a game anymore and some of them are probably realizing it never was a game, this always was real. When everyone called Charlie Kirk a fascist who should get thrown in a pit, they actually meant it and it wasn't just some soy liberal screeching.

Also I'm talking about the average conservative white suburban dipshit. The people with actual power and money have always been cynical and believe in nothing. But now goofball suburb chuds have to suddenly reckon with themselves, and I'm kinda curious where it might lead I guess.

until it happened, chuds were under this assumption that everyone left of hitler is a weak beta soythey/them who has never touched a gun

When my coworkers learned that I owned guns one of them was super confused and asked "But I thought you were gay?" Lmao. Then one asked how I could shoot a gun with painted fingernails

☝️ this here is a more coherent way of getting across the point was trying to make. conservative ideology is about maintaining a "natural" hierarchy, so to them when violence is inflicted upon those lower in their hierarchy (minorities, women, poor people, etc) it's not a big deal, and maybe even based and epic, so why won't you lighten up a little and enjoy it as dark edgy humor? but when it's one of theirs, suddenly it's something that needs seriousness and action from the government to make sure this doesn't happen again.

So have we agreed on Utahnasia or The Neckening?

[–] Lemmygradwontallowme@hexbear.net 23 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

Idk, I think it's more simply a matter of using Kirk's very public death to manufacture consent for what's to come. I don't think anybody in charge have any real concerns beyond that. And your average "God Bless Charlie" weirdo is just a follower.

I'd love for this to be a John Brown situation where now they know the Left is a real threat, but I don't think we're there at all. Dude got shot, media machine did what it does to crank the dial.

[–] CountryBreakfast@lemmygrad.ml 29 points 3 months ago

They are also covering up their own infighting while navigating that thick cognitive dissonance you mentioned. They can't admit they are all being dragged along by fascists that aren't satisfied with Trump.

They don't care about Kirk. Even the left is just a scapegoat to them here imo. The media folks just don't want to face the prospect of the tail wagging the dog, so they make Kirk an American martyr who died peacefully seeking a better life for his countrymen or whatever. No Nazi infighting here!

This is your daily reminder that nobody on the internet is real

[–] Edie@hexbear.net 15 points 3 months ago (2 children)

What does this chart mean?

[–] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 16 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

Odds any given post is by a bot given the proportion of users that are bots (rows) and how frequently the bots post compared to the average human user (columns)

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 10 points 3 months ago (2 children)

It's silly, complete nonsense, we shouldn't listen to it, there aren't any bots here.

Also, I don't really want to make a whole post about this, so I'll ask it here, can anyone tell me what this says? I'm just drawing a blank:

[–] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 11 points 3 months ago

What do you mean by "this"? I don't see anything.

Buy and sell crypto easily with FTX

[–] FourteenEyes@hexbear.net 2 points 3 months ago

Doesn't look like anything to me

But the world is so full of splendor

[–] Enjoyer_of_Games@hexbear.net 1 points 3 months ago

I think it means if we assume that 1% of users are bots and also assume that bots are 10x as active as human users then 9% of activity is by bots and so on
