Some audio understandable without headphones

You are a worm through time.
The thunder song distorts you.
Happiness comes.
White pearls, but yellow and red in the eye.
Through a mirror, inverted is made right.
Leave your insides by the door.
Push the fingers through the surface into the wet.
You’ve always been the new you.
You want this to be true.
We stand around you while you dream.
You can almost hear our words but you forget.
This happens more and more now.
You gave us the permission in your regulations.
We wait in the stains.
The word that describes this is redacted.
Repeat the word.
The name of the sound.
It resonates in your house.
After the song, time for applause.
We build you till nothing remains.
The egg cracks and the truth will emerge out of you.
You are home.
You remind us of home.
You’ve taken your boss with your boss with you.
All hair must be eaten.
Under the conceptual reality behind this reality you must want these waves to drag you away.
After the song, time for applause.
This cliché is death out of time, breaking the first the second the third the fourth wall, the fifth wall, floor; no floor: you fall!
How do you say “insane”?
Hurts to be happy.
An earworm is a tune you can’t stop humming in a dream: “baby baby baby yeah”.
Just plastic.
So, safe and nothing to worry about.
Ha ha, funny.
The last egg breaks now.
The hole in your room is a hole in you.
You came and we let you in through the hole in you.
You have always been here, the only child.
A copy of a copy of a copy.
Orange peel.
The picture is you holding the picture.
When you hear this you will know you’re in new you.
You want to listen.
You want to dream.
You want to smile.
You want to hurt.
You don’t want to be.

What really freaked me out about those voices was that they were in german when i played, even though i had the game language set to english, and everything else was in english. I think the game might look to the OS language settings

The United States government has a monopoly on the concept of a federation.

[–] Zagorath@aussie.zone 12 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Australia, Germany, Canada, Russia, India, Brazil, and a bunch more countries are gonna disagree with you there.

Oh, and Gene Roddenberry.

[–] irelephant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I know, but a lot of the time, when people see the fed in fediverse, they assume its a reference to the U.S government.

[–] apotheotic@beehaw.org 8 points 5 months ago

Control was so good, and she's the only fed I trust

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 8 points 5 months ago

Honestly with every federal agency having its own janky website that acts as a 'portal' to a bunch of other random websites... the first time I heard of the fediverse without any context, my guess was that it was some kind of master site that linked all of them together. Which would be entirely useless, but that's never stopped the feds before.

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 8 points 5 months ago

I mean... not only by the Feds!?

Lemmy and other link aggregators are just a (small) part of the fediverse, though.

[–] Zagorath@aussie.zone 14 points 5 months ago

Lemmy ⊂ Threadiverse ⊂ Fediverse

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago (3 children)

I struggle to explain Lemmy or the fediverse simplicity for the unfamiliar

"You've heard about Twitter and Reddit, right? Imagine if you could read, upvote, and comment on Reddit posts from Twitter directly, without a Reddit account. Or the other way around. This is kind of what Fediverse is. Also most of it is run and managed by volunteers and non-profits, like Wikipedia, so it doesn't try to spy on you or show you ads."

[–] BarrelAgedBoredom@lemmy.zip 4 points 5 months ago

I just say it's like email but for forums. You can message someone on outlook with your Gmail account, now imagine if you could see and comment on reddit posts while you're on Twitter and vice versa

[–] otter@lemmy.ca 3 points 5 months ago

Part of why we put this together is so that I could send it to people when I struggle to explain 😅

I've been thinking; what could be an alternative name for Fediverse ?

[–] prof_tincoa@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Tbh I still don't know what's the fediverse. I ended up here after they took my memes away.

[–] dil@lemmy.zip 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

federated = connected, it just means that all of these services are connected, they are all built upon activityhub for the most part, and can all technically be connected to each other, but it's usually just mastadons federated with mastodons, lemmy/piefed/mbin federated with lemmy/piefed/mbin, so they connect and display the same content as any other website they are connected to.

So piefed.zip and piefed.social, and anyone else who wants to make a piefed at any domain will all display the same content, if you comment or post on one you see it on the other. The fediverse is a term encapsulating all of these interconnected services. Tho rnow mostly microblogs connect to each other, forums connect to each other, rather than it all interlinking.

Microblogging (twitter) - mastodon, pleroma, misskey, sharkey

Forums (reddit) - piefed, lemmy, mbin

Instagram - Pixelfed

Youtube - Peertube

Just to be super clear, they all display the same content for the most part if in the same category (sometimes instances are more opinionated and will block others or certain communities, lemmy.world blocks piracy communities from other servers like lemmy.dbzer0 from showing up on lemmy.world)

[–] dil@lemmy.zip 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The main benefit of these services is anyone can host them, so if one gets shut down another can rise up, like hydra basically, instead of one company hosting, it's spread out among many ppl

I like your funny words, magic man. Thank you for the effort you put into your answer :)
