Fuck AI

"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

⚠️ DISCLAIMER::: This is not an AI witch hunt. But seriously, if you do AI art , then post it on a fucking ai community. Otherwise you're just slop.

... Or just don't post it. There's plenty of non AI art out there, we don't need shitty impersonations of it.

I hate having to second guess every single Art I see nowadays. God damn awful.

A simple trick is image search. I use https://tineye.com/ , anything before 2020 is not AI. Not flawless, but a quick check sometimes help.

so if I draw something new, do I send it back in time, or... ?

As i said not flawless. And again, not a witch hunt. If you are the one doing art that good I'm pretty sure you can spare some Sketch screenshot or a simple photo of the drawing on a table. Is not a TAX, more like a shut up ticket to any jealous prompter who would think you can't do that with your own skills.

Wait these images were AI?

Goddammit. I didn't look close enough.

I thought i was going crazy seeing all these posts to that community and then seeing their history include AI art. Glad they finally got removed.

I got bamboozled. They had a "breezy colored pencil" look that fit in with a good artist dashing off some quick drawings every couple of days.

I missed the last one posted above. I think that one is too elaborare and might have given me some pause, but who knows.

The last image is posted to a generated art community.

It's kind of amazing that people think generated images in incorrect comms are an actual problem while "AI" is destroying the planet, surveilling/imprisoning humanity, enabling genocide, etc.
