Welcome to YUROP
The Ultimate Eurozone of Culture, Chaos, and Continental Excellence

A glorious gathering place to celebrate (and lovingly roast) the lands, peoples, quirks, and contradictions of Her Most Magnificent Europa. From the fjords to the Med, the steppes to the Atlantic spray, this is a shrine to everything that makes Europe gloriously weird, wonderfully diverse, and occasionally passive-aggressive in 24 languages.

Here we toast:
πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί The progressive Union of Peace (and paperwork)
πŸ§€ The freest of health care
🍷 The finest of foods
πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ The liberalest of liberties
🌍 The proud non-members and honorary cousins πŸ’Ά And the eternal dance of unity, confusion, and cultural banter.

Post memes, news, satire, linguistic wars, train maps, cursed food photos, Eurovision fever, propaganda and whatever makes you scream β€œonly in YUROP.”

Leave your stereotypes at the border control and enjoy the ride.

hell NO !!

I don't want that shit-hole to become a part of the nordics!!! No connection what so ever!

[–] hoch@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

As an American, I wouldn't wish this shit on anyone.

...maybe Russia.

The Central Pangean Mountains shall bind us forever

Here I was thinking this meme was proposing dividing the US into two different countries. Which also works pretty well.

So one could live in Springfield, American Overseas Territories, Kingdom of Denmark.

Sounds grandiloquent.

And once again DK colonizes a place full of ICE

[–] Skua@kbin.earth 8 points 2 months ago

If America becomes a Danish territory and they don't call it Vinland I will be very disappointed

spoileryes I know Vinland was actually in modern-day Canada

Why would Demark want a land of fat dumb people. Have you been to Denmark?

Yea, we are already living in a cyberpunk dystopia, would like to at least live in a cool one with cybernetics, orcs and elves

[–] keepthepace@tarte.nuage-libre.fr 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The Tir Tairngire timeline is heavily inspired by Israel's creation. Russian troops are nicknamed orcs in eastern Europe, and cybernetics are there, complete with companies led by nazi billionaires. Drug-addicted mercenaries use drones and hackers in various war zones that you never heard about unless you connect to the sites runners use. Meanwhile, your cyber girlfriend is actually a slave bought by Myanmar mafia to scam people

The year is 2026, you know where your meatbody is, but not sure who it belongs to anymore.

Remove the text and you have a wallpaper ngl

[–] Broadfern@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I’m also okay with Mexico and Canada each annexing about half the US to stop this insanity.

[–] NotAnonymousAtAll@feddit.org 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Problem is if you add too many crazy people to a sane country the crazies just take over everything. So this would have to happen gradually.

[–] bufalo1973@piefed.social 3 points 2 months ago

Easy: send them all to Florida.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 2 points 2 months ago

Pf, not Washington, but British Columbia would obviously be part of Cascadia.

As long as they give the natives back more land and control in this country, I'll gladly accept if this were to happen. Hell, I'd even try my best to learn Danish.

Edit:

I'd also be more than fine if Hawaii was given back to the native Hawaiians as well. As in they start off by basically having an actual functioning 1 country 2 systems set up for a while until they're ready to decouple from us.

There is now way in hell Denmark would want to take any kind of responsibility for Kentucky.

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Kentucky is beautiful.

The people in it though...

I think the idea is they'd improve everyone's lot.

[–] Bwaz@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

If it means universal healthcare, I'm all for it.

[–] Vinylraupe@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 months ago

It makes sense since the states are next to it.
