The funny thing is that I don't think I've ever actually sent a PPB, lmao.

Great work, it's really funny! @RedWizard@hexbear.net this is what Edie was cooking up!

[–] edie@lemmy.encryptionin.space 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Haha. Yeah, it's slightly unrealistic in that you probably wouldn't actually ever say that. But this is inspired by the tagline.

Also I had to manually add the PPB because images (and therefore emojies) don't work in dms anymore.

Yea, I wouldn't say it unless it was for a bit like this one, haha. It's a shame images don't work over dms!

Lol fantastic

Maybe something from another tagline? Hmmm

[–] edie@lemmy.encryptionin.space 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There isn't any tagline like this one that comes to mind.

Yea, it's unfortunate. None of the other taglines dream of an alternate world.

LOOK AT ME! I AM A FAMOUS ARTIST!

Thank you for using my art.

[–] edie@lemmy.encryptionin.space 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's a really good art piece! I wanted it to look slightly more like an actual "socialist distro" as the tagline said, and changing it from the default KDE image was an easy way to do that.

I loved the way you used it exactly for this reason. Whenever I put effort into an original piece I try to depict my own vision of what art would look like in a socialist alternate timeline, seeing someone catch on to that feels quite gratifying.

I do have one minor problem with the image, it has an aspect ratio of 1.74:1, which means I either have to squish it or crop it to fit it into 16:9. Your name in the bottom right get's slightly cut off.

I really need to standardize my aspect ratios and image sizes. I usually just work with 4000x2500 because the numbers look nice.

[–] edie@lemmy.encryptionin.space 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You could switch to 3840x2160, which is near what you have now but 16:9.

Noted, this will definitely work better. Thank you.
