A, B, and C are commonly used letters. X, Y, and Z are rarer
The math, CS & physics crowd knows the superiority of IJK
ABC is for destinations IJK is for numbers/counters XYZ is for objects/brands
X factor.
Also, who wants to alpha or beta test products? I'll take the finished iterations, thank you.
ABC are variables, but XYZ are coordinates. XYZ gives you a space to work in, but you never know what ABC are up to.
This despite society's frequent demand to "Know your ABCs".
ABC & 123 were all known associates of Michael Jackson
Everyone knows ABC, but unfortunately, familiarity breeds contempt. XYZ are edgy, angular and never go home alone.
X gon give it to ya. Whats C gonna do? Nothin thats what.
Because ABC sounds like a kids song, but XYZ sounds like tech-bros. While notorious for poor financial decisions, they definitely understand marketing.
Because we like feeling like we use all of our letters equally. If ABC is used for lists we use XYZ for unknown variables

While XYZ is a 3 point plan because nothing is after Z
Except when you're german and there's ÄÖÜẞ after Z

Abstract Base Classes just remind people of Java lasagna code. Whereas XYZ is inseparable from Hilary Putnam's water analogue in his famous Twin Earth thought experiment.

XYZ is cooler since you know more letters
Also ABC sounds like the term for American-Born Chinese, which is very uncool imo since they only know 1 language. Whereas me on the other hand spending my first 8 years in Mainland China, I knows more than 1 language, which is way cooler (/kidding xD I barely know past 2nd grade level)
I think generation alpha sounds cooler than generation y. Gen X and Z are pretty cool too though.
