Remember, its only election fraud if a republican loses.

its only fraud if trump gets less votes than he wanted.

even if its on the same ballot, if 12 republicans win on the ballot, and 1 democrat wins.. Its only the democrat win thats fraudulent, not the entire ballot. not the republican votes.

Republican votes are never fraudulent, especially when they are.

You don't magically get to remain an elected official after your term is up if you don't win an election.

Well, at least maybe after November, people will stop thinking this is going to end in 2029. I've been so frustrated people saying things like "it's only for four years" "I'm looking forward to when he's out of power" "maybe I'll visit the states in 2029"

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 6 points 4 hours ago

“maybe I’ll visit the states in 2029”

To visit the smoldering wreckage.

[–] FreddiesLantern@leminal.space 32 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

USA people, if you don’t manage to get out of this jam, it’s been real. One last chance guys, don’t mess it up.

[–] GardenGeek@europe.pub 12 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Midterms are more than half a year away and they already start normalizing the narrative of the next 'big steal'. Until November they will have convinced their base that a democrat win would solely be based of the Reps not being allowed to cheat the election (which is somewhat true but you know how they'll mean it).

Good luck hoping for the outcome to be an non-violent end of Trumps presidency.

[–] pachrist@lemmy.world 10 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

It's really easy for Republicans to make this argument as well.

How can libs win elections when you don't know any?

This makes a lot of sense to some guy from Kansas. Everyone he knows loves Trump, so how can Trump lose? I hear this from a lot of relatives.

[–] papertowels@mander.xyz 2 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Trump does love the uneducated...

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 1 points 55 minutes ago

Especially toddlers.

[–] MrStankov@lemmy.world 7 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Hey, remember when we helped out with the whole hitler situation? Want to return the favor?

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 hours ago

Hitler didn't have nukes and the most powerful military in the world, so I can't blame them for being reluctant. Plus, most other countries have their own surge of far-right parties to deal with.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 7 points 8 hours ago

They will have to before its over if we don't get rid of this trash pile of humans.

[–] defaultusername@lemmy.dbzer0.com 26 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (2 children)

Why does it seem like everyone forgot that he already tried to rig the elections on Jan 6? Democracy officially died on January 20, 2025, and we were screaming from the rooftops that it was going to die if Trump were reelected. But Trump is just a symptom of a larger issue.

The real rot in our system has been here since the founding of the country. The founding fathers chose capitalism as the form of economics, and what they didn't realize (or maybe did) was that they were just replacing one king with another. They explicitly allowed people who seek power to continue to be allowed to have power over others. Regardless of how much it is or isn't regulated, it will always lead back to the same road. Call it monarchy, oligarchy, fascism, dictatorship, authoritarianism, or whatever else you want, but this is the road that we travel down whenever we allow rulers in society.

The only way to fix this forever is to not allow rulers in society. Anything short of that will lead us right back here.

[–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

They replaced one king with a group of oligarchs.

[–] ebolapie@lemmy.world 48 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

How do I know they cheated? Because we cheated and they beat us!

[–] fort_burp@feddit.nl 7 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

This is a perfect comment because it describes exactly what happened (from their perspective) in the most succinct way possible. 💯

GET YOUR FUCKING GUNS, Y’ALL

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 97 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (2 children)

With the fascism, the shit in the epstein files, and this shit, its just a fucken joke now. Burn it to the ground.

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 46 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (1 children)

None of it is a joke. If Americans treated it seriously when it all first started, we wouldn't be here right now. It's a fascist coup wrapped in the American flag, always has been.

But saying it doesn't seem to motive people to do what's necessary to oppose it. Those words have been overused and misused to the point of being completely ineffective to communicate the seriousness of what's happening. It's a five alarm fire and ppl are just going to work and doin their hobbies and acting like this is someone else's problem to fix. Which is exactly what the political class has taught us for decades, don't engage, don't participate, don't think to be actively involved in your own governance, don't have any power of influence, just vote every couple years and then fuck off back to your wage slave lives.

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 27 points 20 hours ago (3 children)

You know full well that it's just a figure of speech. Don't be deliberately obtuse. It is a joke of a government.

"It just looks on its face to be fraudulent, because we didn't win. Of course we win, we always win because we say so. Any loss is fake. There is only the Republican party. If you don't love the one party state you don't love freedom."

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 12 points 15 hours ago

Almost time for the guillotines. Go ahead, try and suspend elections ... announce that Republicans are officially rebels.

[–] wildncrazyguy138@fedia.io 39 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

It’s all projection. When you know you’re capable of doing it, you think everyone else would be too.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 3 points 4 hours ago

That's why right-wing nutters think LGBT people are pedophiles

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 40 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (1 children)

“It just looks on its face to be fraudulent.”

“Can I prove that? No, because it happened so far upstream,” Johnson added.

What a little shit

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 15 points 15 hours ago

Y'all have complete control over the government, and are willing to manufacture facts at every opportunity. Prove it, or shut up

[–] circuitfarmer 25 points 18 hours ago

This is it. This is when it actually becomes permanent.

  1. Treat every weapon as if it were loaded.
  2. Never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot.
  3. Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
  4. Keep your weapon on safe until you intend to fire.

  1. Know your target and what is beyond it.

Four weapons safety rules (and an extra for good measure). This is the bare minumum general knowledge needed before handling a firearm.

Unless you’re an ICE agent, then you don’t follow any rules, including laws.

Yep. The death throes of a nation begin and ends with a cowardly little weasel promoting fascist ideologies.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 24 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Of course, it must be fraud. Everyone knows that Trump is the most popular president in human history. If he isn't winning every election by at least 99%, then the other guys must be cheating. /s

[–] minorkeys@lemmy.world 10 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Excuses are just delay tactics while they maneuver to secure the mechanisms of power behind the scenes. What is America going to do if they succeed, the election happens, and everyone knows it's bullshit? What is each of you reading this going to do? Anything? Democracy dies with a whimper?

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 9 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

For people like me, we'll be relying on our local governments and neighbors.

I'm lucky that I live in Seattle, Washington. My government will do its damnedest to fight back and protect us. If there is a civil war, my local government is on my side. That helps. It also helps that we'd have Oregon with us. California, maybe, but there's a lot of red between Eugene, OR, and San Francisco, and their state and local governments are more entrenched in the federal status quo (looking at Newsom).

We are also very active as far as activism and mutual aid go in this region. And our gun ranges can get crowded.

That's what they will claim if their meddling isn't enough to win the election. All the claims of fraud and fake polls and being supported by the silent majority is just the groundwork for not accepting an election loss.

[–] GuyFawkesV@lemmy.world 15 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

We need to take this VERY, VERY seriously. I gamed out how Trump gets a third term - shit like this enables it (in 2028) - this is a test run.

You appear to be a fascist sympathizer, but that’s provable. Every lawsuit attached to voter fraud remarkably time and time again results in pointing to some Republican voter fraud scheme.

Prove it you f’in parrot, or shut yer hole.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 9 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

So, that evil little elf is willing to do something blatantly illegal, then.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

..where have you been since he became Speaker?

Doing or at the very least enabling blatantly illegal things isn't just part of the job he willingly signed up for, it IS the job.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

I've definitely been watching him know next to nothing about the major stories of the day, that's for sure. I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone claim to know so little. You'd think the guy was Amish or something and eschewing anything electronic, to hear him tell it.

That's when he is asked a question that makes Republicans look bad. Usually the interview comes to an end and the Wish edition of Harry Potter scampers away.

[–] smeenz@lemmy.nz 5 points 17 hours ago

I think it's more than apparent by now that it's only illegal if the justice department and courts are willing to deal out consequences.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 5 points 16 hours ago

There'd be a human centipede behind Trump by now if they weren't all bucketing over who got to be #2.
