/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Jesus FUCKING CHRIST. It's like the inside corners of a junk drawer that's been used to store cheetos and crayons for 45 years

[–] NotASharkInAManSuit@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It’s Baal Red through an airbrush. Calm down.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 day ago

That makes me feel a lot better

I was airbrushing 40k dudes, it’s just paint. Check my other post for proof.

[–] Madzielle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 day ago

Wash your hands folks!

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 37 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Upon closer inspection, O'Brien seems to have broken his wrist and lost his right thumb. Suffering checks out.

[–] Davel23@fedia.io 27 points 2 days ago (4 children)

I mean, Malort is suffering in a bottle.

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Had to look it up:

Jeppson's Malört is a notoriously bitter, wormwood-based Swedish liqueur that has become a Chicago cultural icon, known for its intense flavor and "rite of passage" status in the city's drinking culture. Introduced by Swedish immigrant Carl Jeppson, it's a type of bäsk brännvin, traditionally consumed as a digestif, and is famous for its unique, herbal, and citrusy bite that is loved and hated in equal measure.

Sounds about right.

[–] ch00f@lemmy.world 30 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They are well aware of their brand.

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 25 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Irresponsible? Yes. Good for sales? Somehow, also yes.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Can I find this in the SF Bay Area in under 22 hours?

5 hours left ...hope you found it, your dad won't fight himself

[–] Botzo@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The juice? Easily. I got my last bottle at a total wine.

The poster ... No idea.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (7 children)

Shit. I don't think I can take on a whole bottle. Can I just pop by your place for a shot?

Kind of tastes like Sambuca to me, and then the aftertaste is so bitter it seems like you need to call poison control.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

It tastes like someone fermented trashcan juice in a skunk's asshole in the dog days of summer.

[–] Rug_Pisser@piefed.zip 10 points 1 day ago

I've already said yes, you don't have to keep selling it to me.

[–] MadMadBunny@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Guinan wouldn’t serve that.

[–] GraniteM@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Pretty decent chance that she was serving it in this scene:

[–] mushroommunk@lemmy.today 7 points 2 days ago

You take that back! Malort is golden nectar of the gods!

[–] teft@piefed.social 9 points 2 days ago (10 children)

Maybe they got the same hand guy that played flute for JL.

Malort?

O'Brien must suffer.

Oh, he does. He does.

[–] fireweed@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Yeah but O'Brien is Irish-Irish, not Chicago-Irish. He wouldn't be caught dead with the stuff.

The random sticker I found on the ground says otherwise.

[–] teft@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago

His ancestors were american irish so maybe it's a heritage drink.

[–] Catoblepas@piefed.blahaj.zone 15 points 2 days ago

Someone out there is weeping, retracing their every step. ‘My Malört O’Brien! Where is my Malört O’Brien?!’

O'Brien and Malort was the crossover I was waiting for this entire time

[–] teft@piefed.social 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Temporal anomaly. You should alert temporal investigations.

You really don't want to be in possession of something outside its proper time frame when those guys show up.

[–] NotASharkInAManSuit@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They’ll have to kill me. This is far too precious to surrender. This is worth dying for.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago

The Malort riots changed the course of history

Omg this is radiant.

Look at him, in all his glory telling you “don’t worry lad, everything is ok, go have a feckin drink and party. Fuck the Cardies. You go lad!”.

[–] PastelKeystone@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

This made my day. Put a big grin in it.

[–] StitchInTime@piefed.social 4 points 1 day ago

He’s suffered enough.

[–] Bahnd@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Anyone have this meme in a higher quality format? I need it for... Science stuff.

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] Bahnd@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)
