I think government reports of aliens is a similar phenomena to Havana syndrome. People who work in intelligence are good at scaring the shit out of each other by accident.

I would not be shocked if a large amount of "proof" is identical to "I just read a spooky story so I'm hurrying up the basement steps a little faster than normal" with the gravitas of "it's in GOVERNMENT FILES" layered on top. ๐
They do this sort of thing every time they need more distractions for the public. This Epstein shit is obviously getting too close for comfort, so they need to roll out Obama and have him say the thing that is usually reserved for "anonymous top US generals." Notice he never actually confirms anything, or gives any specific evidence, it's just the standard "Some people say they see weird lights in the sky, maybe there's something to that, think about that, not about what the US government is doing."
Yup. It even got traction on the mainstream news, but it's still not burying the lead on Epstein though. Barack would have to come forward with pictures of alien bodies I think.

There's definitely been some weird shit in the skies a few times, though. Whether natural phenomena we're not familiar with, or some kind of tech we don't know about, or whether that tech is from Earth or not, is unclear. I generally lean toward natural phenomena, though. People tend to assume we already know basically everything about reality, which I find super arrogant. Our current model of the universe only makes sense if, like, most of it is made up of a type of matter we've never observed. We don't know jack shit. Weird shit in the sky could be anything from undocumented weather phenomena to undocumentable spacetime phenomena.
Abiogenesis happened from what I can tell basically as soon as the conditions on earth would allow it, it would be extremely weird to think life is unique to here.
