What is the best client for Lemmy? What client do you use for Lemmy on Android?

At the time I use Thunder!

Blorp dev here. Let me know if you need anything!

[–] blujan@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 day ago

I use boost, to me it was the best reddit client and when it came to lemmy all others felt incomplete so I jumped over ASAP and I haven't missed anything.

[–] Karl@literature.cafe 1 points 1 day ago

Jerboa looks pretty good, even though a little underfeatured

blorp is good, the developer is on here and its updated frequently

[–] irelephant@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Voyager is good.

Sync is really good, but the dev has abandoned it.

Yeah in my opinion sync is the best but bound to break eventually. Maybe revanced can keep it alive

Imo Thunder has the best design out of every app I tested, but the development is slow. Iirc some moderation actions are still not available.

I then switched to Summit after the dev open sourced it a few years ago. The dev is very active and friendly.

[–] greatwhitebuffalo41@slrpnk.net 10 points 2 days ago

I've been enjoying Voyager

I've been using !summit@lemmy.world for a year now. Very happy with it.

Doesn't seem to like piefed though but I don't like piefed either so, eh.

[–] QuantumEyetanglement@feddit.online 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Works fine with piefed for me! Also side note why don't you like piefed?

[–] bsit@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

Mainly because of the default web interface. I tried having an account and it was immediately annoying and counter intuitive to try to navigate. Loading up the account page takes forever for some reason. And i couldn't get it to login at all on Summit.

I just find the default Lemmy more comfy.

[–] rubenstorm@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Where did you get it? It's not on f-droid

[–] anon6789@lemmy.world 0 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Summit

Google Play and Obtanium/GitHub links on there.

It is open source, but dev has had issues with F-droid's approval process last I checked. Not a deal breaker for me.

Summit is heads above the other clients for me. Dev has added a bunch of feature requests from me, so that certainly helps. Steady development of the app and they respond to everyone quickly on here with questions/comments.

I've had luck with Piefed on it when .world was having uptime issues.

[–] Samsy@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Found out there is the Atkinson font available, neat.

[–] anon6789@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

It looks like that's what I've been using. No wonder I find it so pleasing to read even without my glasses.

I can't stop using Eternity. Its just so lightweight and does everything I need. I come from Infinity, when I was on Reddit (fuck spez). Yes, I'm aware it hasn't been updated in nearly 2 years. To each their own. 🤷‍♂️

[–] swelter_spark@reddthat.com 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I use Eternity, too. I tried lots of options, and liked it the best.

[–] Oberyn@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Sameee, don't plan to switch away bcus haven't found client of both (reddit|lemmy) even if separate apps for each . Hope for dev activity again some day 🙏

[–] BurgerBaron@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago

I use Ironfox (Firefox) to access the mobile website of piefed.social, zero need for another app at all.

This was also the case when I used Lemmy via shitjustworks.

Thunder's really good, I'd just stick with that.

See also !lemmyapps@lemmy.world and https://www.lemmyapps.com/

I've been using Boost, Blorp and Voyager, but I also haven't tried the other apps in a long time. I'm used to these and they do almost everything I need so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[–] moseschrute@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

How can I make Blorp so incredibly good that you don't have to juggle multiple clients? Unless you enjoy juggling clients, in which case more power to ya.

[–] otter@piefed.ca 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I use Boost primarily, and I'm playing around with the other two for Piefed support.

~~The Blorp dev is active on here if you want to request features you are looking for~~

~~!blorp@lemmy.zip~~

I'm sorry, I misunderstood, you are the dev 😅

I'll put together a list of my top priorities and share them at some point. Thank you for actively looking for feedback!

[–] moseschrute@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Sorry I kinda chaotically respond to everyone and sometimes I mix up someone who has already left feedback. I forget where you left your feedback, but just make sure it’s in GitHub (if it’s not already) and it’s much more likely to get addressed. I’m going to try and burn through the entire backlog of issues this month.

[–] dlsloop@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 days ago

I highly recommend Jerboa. It's made by the Lemmy devs and is available on F-droid/GitHub so I don't have to use the play store. Currently typing this from the app.

[–] MrQuallzin@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I used Sync (first for Reddit, then for Lemmy), but the dev's been AWOL for a lot longer than normal so it's pretty broken at this point.

Tried Connect next, and it was alright.

Currently using Voyager and I'm pretty happy with it. It's gotten me back to the old Sync customizations I used to have.

[–] hoch@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Came here to recommend Sync. I haven't really noticed anything broken

[–] QuirkyRaccoon1156@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I really like Mlem on iOS! Using it now actually

[–] VincentComfy@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Same! I’m shocked it’s free considering how high quality it is

[–] neidu3@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

"Best" is subjective, "good" is objective. And Voyager is objectively good. That's what I use.

Honorable mention: Jerboa. Used it for a while, but there was a period of Lemmy updating whereas Jerboa did not, so it stopped working. During that time I switched to Voyager. I hear Jerboa is OK again now.

[–] stochasticity@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I get this weird bug on voyager where, on the home screen, if I pull up from the bottom it creates black space. This makes it hard to use, though if I was more graceful perhaps I wouldn't do it accidentally so often.

[–] neidu3@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

I have a similar bug. It happens if I enter typing mode (such as when writing this comment). It causes the app to have black dead space around it. But I've gotten used to it.

[–] paranoid@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

I've been using boost and love it

[–] Hexanimo@kbin.earth 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Hi from Interstellar on Android

[–] FerCR@kbin.earth 2 points 1 day ago

Second !interstellar@kbin.earth ! I mostly use it due to it's support for other protocols beyond Lemmy, like Mbin

E: Added link

my favorite mobile client is firefox

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 days ago

I used connect for a few months, but it had a variety of little issues that made me want to branch out. Currently running Summit, and it does pretty much everything I could want it to.

[–] ThatWeirdGuy1001@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Jerboa works pretty good
