Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). All Senate Democrats voted for the resolution except for Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman, who has argued that cutting off the President’s authority mid-campaign would send the wrong message.

Can we please kick this asshole out of the democratic party for fuck sake???

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Pieces of Shit = Government of Pedos (GOP).

Fetterman is the modern day Brutus to the DNC, the quintessential "backstabber" that keeps on stabbing.

[–] ech@lemmy.ca 102 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I mean, his vote wasn't gonna change shit, but it sure says something when he's the singular Dem breaking ranks. What a fucking tool.

Fetterman is the modern day Brutus

Brutus stabbed Ceaser in the back. And our American Ceaser seems about as safe from Fetterman as anyone.

Brutus was also an elegant public speaker and a famously good lay

and a famously good lay

Can vouch.

“We should let him finish the job,” Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said Tuesday, voicing support for a U.S.-Israeli air campaign that began five days ago

This administration doesn't even know what "finish the job" looks like, you fucking Russian tool.

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 20 points 2 days ago

The police, next time they catch me robbing a gas station, should just "let me finish job"

[–] Pirat@lemmy.org 11 points 2 days ago

Lady Lindsey has never seen a war it didn't love to sell arms for. You should have seen it creaming all over itself on Meet the Press the day after the attacks started.

[–] Jaysyn@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That makes you an accomplice to a war criminal.

We should do something about that in 2028.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

We should do something about it NOW

[–] cogman@lemmy.world 83 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

cutting off the President’s authority mid-campaign would send the wrong message

Hey Fetterman, the message we want to send is "Don't fucking start wars in random non-aggressive countries on behalf of Israel". That's absolutely the right message which should be sent right at this moment you asshole.

[–] FaceDeer@fedia.io 48 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I am quite sure that at some point - hopefully soon - the narrative will be "don't blame us, it was all that awful Trump's fault. It was just one rogue president!"

No, it wasn't. This belongs to all of you.

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Which is why the Constitution gives the exclusive power to initiate war to the Congress. They're supposed to have skin in the game and fear for reelection if they enter into an unpopular war. It's not just that they didn't trust the office most inclined to go to war to make the decision, they wanted to spread responsibility across the branch most responsive to public opinion so they couldn't dodge responsibility.

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I think the Republicans in Congress truly believe that Trump is going to be able to stop the next election cycle. So they have no fear of losing their place.

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 day ago

All these motherfuckers are traitors who are intent on destroying American society for their own benefit

[–] blitzen@lemmy.ca 51 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (9 children)

I feel for anyone who has a brain injury, but if Fetterman isn’t the living example of brain damage leading to conservatism, nothing is.

[–] 3jane@piefed.ca 17 points 2 days ago

Or a fake Democrat from the start

No. He was a fake from the start. He isn't even voting along some kind of ideological line, he is literally just voting how Republicans tell him to vote, just like any other republican.

This is backwards. Congress did not need to pass such a resolution. The president needs to ask permission.

[edited]: format, source, also there was two posting of this issue with different results. This is the second posting which news articles are referring too.

Where does your list come from? Why is it different from what the article says?

The article states Fetterman crossed the aisle and voted with republicans

I hope they send their kids to the frontline. Unfortunately I know better. They'll send your kids.

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 24 points 2 days ago

Contact your senators and tell them in no uncertain terms your informed opinion of their actions. "47-53 vote mostly along party lines " All Dems minus Fetterman DINO, plus Rand Paul = 47

[–] NatakuNox@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

47 vs 53. So not close. We are fucked

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

It's so weird that cuckservatives are letting Donvict have his way with America.

[–] M0oP0o@mander.xyz 10 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Ha! Ha! HA I SAY!

This needs to be referenced next time an american tries to tell any of us that they still have a real nation with functioning rule of law.

Cant wait to watch when susan collins loses by double digits because of how bad of a politician she is

[–] Railing5132@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Yep, just like the last 75 times...

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 days ago

I assumed this would happen or they would have taken less than nearly a week to do it.

If they cared they’d have rushed this vote on Saturday or Sunday. They don’t. They never have, never will.
