But I still gotta go to fucking work tomorrow

[–] PhobosAnomaly@feddit.uk 37 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

well technically you don't gotta

It's just very helpful for things like mortgages and bills and stuff.

[–] remotedev@lemmy.ca 31 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

You don't gotta, but you gotta. Because for some reason some people decided it's not a right to have food/water/shelter, it's something you have to earn.

Because transactional relationships are easier than dealing with feelings. I guess.

So you want to say they don't have to, but they're conditioned to do it. As if.. as if you were trying to say that we live in the society

Take to the woods! Shed the things of man! Find what it means to be alive.

Last time I saw this post I said it reminded me of this picture of a snake that was electrocuted after biting a wire, and then another snake that was electrocuted after biting the first snake.

expand

This one resonates with me more because the first snake was probably an idiot who saw the wire and thought, "I'm gonna bite that other snake." Then he died from it.

Second snake comes along, sees the first snake, has the exact same thought, then dies in the exact same way.

Except the second snake was right. But the first snake's stupidity still killed him.

that is fucking wild. Did you take this pic or find it?

[–] moakley@lemmy.world 15 points 3 weeks ago

Found it. It's been doing the rounds for years.

That's pretty damn horrifying 😵‍💫

[–] LiveLM@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

For some reason I never considered snakes would bite each other

[–] Soggy@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

That's the whole deal with the kingsnake and king cobra, they're specialist snake-eaters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ophiophagy

[–] moakley@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

I just assumed these snakes in particular were jerks.

He was actually quite powerful for a brief second

[–] Valmond@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

But he resisted, that was what took him out.

[–] ByteJunk@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

It didn't even trip the breaker... ;_;

Meybe he thought that since the wires are same color, nothing will halpen. Seriously who wired this.

This bit is probably specific for eu: Yellow (well yellow-green atleast) is suppose to be effin GND.

[–] Denvil@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 weeks ago

In the US, ground is bare copper, green, or green and yellow.

Neutral is white or grey

And hots are any other color, with black, red, and blue being common for lower voltages, and brown, orange, and yellow being common for higher voltages. But that's just an unofficial standard, you can run all hot pink wires for your hots if you really wanted to.

If I have to die anyway, I wanna die in a brand new way no one has ever died before.

[–] this_1_is_mine@lemmy.ml 8 points 3 weeks ago

Yes please make my death a brand new sentence.

EXPLOSIVE

INTERSTITIAL

DELAMINATION !

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Is that anything like total protonic reversal?

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

There's a thin membrane/layer of tissue that lives between all your organs, so that explosively delaminating would be protonic reversal bad, but in a slow, wet, meaty sort of way.

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

I first read the second word as "intestinal"

[–] 1D10@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Like from some weird DNA mutation that leads to very painful years of slowly losing first your vision then your hearing until you are trapped in a shell of your body screaming in pain until deaths cold embrace?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 points 3 weeks ago

Before checking the context I thought this was a reply to another thread about having a GITS robot body and was like "I can turn my pain settings to 0 🤷‍♂️."

by forces vastly in excess of anything he was ever designed to experience

I mean, he coulda got hit by lightning instead, and he wasn't designed to experience that either.
