1.0 release? Let's completely change the game! What could go wrong...
Automation and Factory Builder Games
A community surrounding automation (e.g. The Farmer Was Replaced) and factory games (e.g. Factorio, Satisfactory).
Rules
- Please stay on-topic: post about automation and factory builder games. There is some wiggle room; there always is when it comes to game genres, but some things clearly do not fit (Pong, a post asking what car you should buy in real life) and will be removed.
- Don’t be a jerk. This covers bigotry and discrimination, which includes but is not limited to homophobia, racism, sexism, etc.
- Please don’t directly link to pirated content.
- When advertising something you have worked on (think your own automation game review website, or an automation game you have worked on), please use common sense for what is spammy. If there’s about four new posts here weekly, don’t post a progress update weekly—we don’t want self-promotion overwhelming the community. But finding new automation game creators is cool, so do post them here every once in awhile! I reserve the right to change this rule to be more specific about what exactly counts as spammy and what does not, but I feel I’ll know it when I see it and trust most posters to operate in good faith.
- Please indicate spoilers. The following format works on both Lemmy and Kbin, but if you are using an app it may not. See this comment for which apps handle spoilers. Note that spoilers in post bodies will just show the text in the preview if you link the post in, say, Discord, instead of spoiling it.

I've been playing for a couple years, got 250hrs, love the small changes they made, love the wonderful modding community.. new, or returning players should deffo check out some of the custom maps on the workshop.
Been playing the game for the last two days straight. Help.
How are we liking this? Reviews on Steam are extremely good. Looks like a good way to lose a weekend or two.
I've been playing it for two years and still find many ways to challenge myself in vanilla, let alone with all the mod content. Currently trying to beat the "pressure"map on hard without relocating. I'm sure it's possible, but far from easy.
It's cute, fun, and it scratches that "the ~~factory~~ settlement must grow!" itch.
i've been playing it for years. it's a brilliant little city builder with some interesting twists. i originally bought it because i saw that it had stackable buildings, which i've never seen in another city builder, but the addition of water management using physical bodies of water was what sealed the deal. redirecting rivers to generate energy and setting up conditional dams depending on the season is very satisfying. i do wish the seasons mechanic went a little deeper (there are only three) but what's there is definitely plenty challenging and i think there are mods that add more seasons.
also, in a complete surprise to basically everyone, the 1.0 update added a way to tie things like water or stockpile levels to automation triggers. haven't gotten into the release version yet but i for one am very excited.
Didn't know about the latest point, cool update!
Playing it in early access for a while. It's got charm and great little city builder if you like things that are deceptively simple. Modding scene is amazing too.
I enjoy the verticality of the building, so instead of sprawl you can get super compact monoliths that are just so satisfying to watch the little beavers move about in. The water mechanics are also super interesting to play with and encourages you to build extensive damage systems (like your a city of beavers or something). If you enjoy city builders you should enjoy this. There's a range of difficulty as well as a 2nd faction that plays very differently from the other beaver faction.
Went and bought it once it got out of EA. Pleasantly surprised by it being under 2GB.
Bought it a long while ago. I guess another playthrough is needed.
