Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

I guess the pedofile parasite class has selected our next leader

[–] PolydoreSmith@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I met him a few weeks ago and let me just say: you’re absolutely right. It’s like they grew a centrist neoliberal in a lab somehow. He was ridiculously charming and 100% on-message. As I said to my girlfriend, if I were more naive I may have actually felt something listening to him speak.

But yeah, he has no soul. And he could definitely be liberal Hitler.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

He’s Pelosi’s nephew.

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 40 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Usually I come to the comments to offer clarification about how he's just really bad at talking, and didn't actually say the thing he's accused of saying. But no, he literally just said "the president of the United States, Gavin Newscum, admitted he he has learning disabilities"

I won't be voting for Newscum either, but I'd rather have a president with dyslexia than dementia

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Ok it's about dyslexia. It's wild that dyslexia is even an issue in some people's eyes

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 14 points 1 day ago

And Trump calling out someone for having difficulty reading is so hilariously hypocritical.

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 21 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's wild that dyslexia is even an issue in some people's eyes

I think it's actually in the brain. Things like astigmatism are in the eyes

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sorry, as someone with both i regularly mix things up and don't see it

[–] techt@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

I see what you did there.

[–] Uruanna@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Idiot should've thought about having more normal issues and hobbies, like pedophilia.

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Certainly South Park is working on their next cartoon.

[–] wuffah@lemmy.world 148 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Direct quote from the video:

“The president of the United States, Gavin Newscum admitted that he has learning disabilities, dyslexia… everything about him is dumb.”

The way he says it doesn’t make it sound like he’s stating it in a possible future tense.

[–] Remember_the_tooth@lemmy.world 73 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It also makes me think his entourage has selected Newsom as their top choice for controlled opposition.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 46 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I'd say it's more that Newsom has been publicly mocking Trump for a while.

Trump is a narcissist. In the 1980s a writer for Mad Magazine called Trump a "short fingered vulgarian". Trump is still obsessed with telling people that he doesn't have "small hands".

The narcissism is why Trump is obsessed with Newsom.

I'm almost completely convinced that Trump's entire team are fully enabling him in his dementia. Prefrontal Temporal Dementia makes a person more erratic, it removes filters, it messes with your ability to process language, but it doesn't initially impact memory.

This is a generalization of the dementia because it's an umbrella term for a dozen different types that all attack that region of the brain.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

a writer for Mad Magazine called Trump a “short fingered vulgarian”

It was Graydon Carter, editor of Vanity Fair, in an article in Spy magazine.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

That's what I get for relying on my own memory. I should look that shit up more often, especially in a comment talking about dementia. It's not a good look.

This sounds like his normal word salad. He'll just interject with the topic instead of pausing. But man, listening to him snort and fumble through his words trying to throw shade about dyslexia is just...

I think a president should not have learning disabilities, OK?

Counterpoint:

Donald Trump was the dumbest goddamn student I ever had!'

  • Trump's professor at Wharton
[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago

And he was probably much much smarter then compared to now

[–] MasterBlaster@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Hey, some really amazing people have dyslexia, you know.

(Yes, I know what you meant)

It's funny because Trump has a learning disability.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 121 points 2 days ago (4 children)

This child fucker speaks like a preteen.

No wonder conservatives identify with him.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 41 points 2 days ago (6 children)

That's insulting to preteens.

I imagine one of those American movies where the aliens come from space, meeting humanity officially for the first time, and gets to meet Trump as the person we have selected as our leader.

That must be something.

Eh, there's a video in the article, I'm not convinced it wasn't just him changing tracks mid-sentence again.

But holy hell, listening to him talk, that man needs to be in a home. He is struggling to hold himself up and talk.

[–] capt_wolf@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

My mother in law played me a clip the other night and I didn't even recognize his voice. When did he start sounding like a 2 pack a day smoker?

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, since the election he's been declining fast. I suspect they put him on all sorts of uppers for the campaign

[–] DillDough@lemmy.zip 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Remember when Trump kept making weirdly specific claims about Bidens handlers having to inject amphetamines into his ass for him to make public appearances...yup projection, as literally always.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Meanwhile good hard working Americans with adhd are struggling to get amphetamines

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

He talks exactly like my dementia-ridden aunt. In that interview he talked about Barrack Hussein Obama's disastrous nuclear deal more than she talks about Olive Garden

[–] forrgott@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago

Umm, that's not better. He can't form a coherent sentence. That's like, not good.

[–] partofthevoice@lemmy.zip 24 points 2 days ago

He said it like 6 times. That didn’t seem at all like he was changing tracks, to me at least.

[–] CatZoomies@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

Can you imagine being that elderly while trying to hold yourself up, talk, and keep your bowel movement inside?

[–] TwilitSky@lemmy.world 43 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Gavin Newsom often mixes up words and letters.

Donald Trump often accidentally and often deliberately mixes up facts and events.

Which would you prefer?

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Could we reroll our dyslexic?

[–] UltraGiGaGigantic@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 day ago

STAR voting.

Even before trump I felt scummy being an American. Like the guys going to leave a permanent shit stain on this country. And it's not just him really... Like he really shows off what many Americans are like. It's engrained in our culture. I wish I had the money to become an expat.

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

USians on Reddit keep saying that every Russian who disagrees with Putin's politics has left the country, and only collaborationists remain. So it must be really easy to emigrate, and surely the same logic applies to the US.

donald would know about idiots i suppose, idiots will latch onto spelling mistakes and ignore the contents of the question and go "i'm right cuz you spelled something wrong" reddit is awful for that.

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago

I could see a very generous interpretation of that statement where "President of the United States" and "Gavin Newscum" were technically two separate thoughts, but trying to make sense of this moron is impossible so I'm just going to assume he said what everybody thinks he said and conclude that his brain is completely mush at this point.
