Hey! You wanna try Linux? I just made a new Linux called Copilot Linux. It looks just like copilot! I added suprice actions to make it as natural a transition as possible!

Things like blue screens of death with just a "fucken" QR code! That way you won't miss the original! But the QR code goes to porn hub. See? Its good!

For right now I just released the name github. Sign up and I'll send you ads!

[–] lord_admiral@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Very interesting! Please tell me, did you forget to build CoPilot into your CoPilot Linux?

[–] Wispy2891@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Fun fact: Microsoft edge for Linux has a copilot button. But they forgot to implement it, so it just takes space on the menu bar (cannot be removed)

Reminder from the Copilot ToS:

Copilot is for entertainment purposes only. It can make mistakes, and it may not work as intended. Don’t rely on Copilot for important advice. Use Copilot at your own risk.

Always read the label, talk to your doctor to see if copilot is right for you

They don't need ideas, notepad is literally a copilot tool now.

They never changed the icon because they know how discussting copilot is but literally every default windows app is now just a skin for copilot.

Not an exaggeration this has already happened we just don't realize it yet.

[–] umbraroze@slrpnk.net 22 points 1 day ago (5 children)

I literally had to write a clock app on my own because Windows clock is pretty bad.

I was thinking that they'll just replace the clock with Copilot eventually.

Windows 11: "It's 11 pm sharp. I know that because I looked at the RTC."

Windows 12: "It's 11 pm sharp. That's a phrase people like to say, apparently."

...Don't give Microsoft any ideas.

[–] 1984@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago

You know what that microsoft clock needs? To be rewritten in electron and support a web browser inside. That way, it can easily show ads to increase profits.

huh, i just downloaded a clock widget because i couldn't put a clock where i want to look for one.

I finally had to move to Windows 11, and the UI is just so fucking broken.

I did discover StartAllBack the other day which helped tremendously

like who thought removing the ability to show seconds in the clock flyout was a good choice‽

pretty sure they're already using copilot in the start menu program search. I searched for "not" today because I wanted to open notepad. I got three results, none of which had "not" in their name. like jesus fucking christ that's so bad. one of them literally did not have any of the letters n o or t in the program name.

I think I've used your software before Iol.

Where's the copilot copilot?

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 19 points 1 day ago (2 children)
[–] CaptPretentious@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No, what they're asking for is Copilot^Copilot^

Not to be confused with Copilot, or Copilot+, or Copilot 365, or Copilot Pro, or Github Copilot, or Copilot Studio, or Security Copilot....

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 2 points 1 day ago

Don't forget Old Copilot and New Copilot!

[–] zaphod@sopuli.xyz 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Would've expected a Copilot# from MS.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago

Or .Copilot which is the same as the other Copilot, except they fucked up all the naming conventions and it only runs on their platform.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I imagined the entire cast of Everybody Love's Raymond but the scripts were written by copilot entirely and they have the corpses of Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle hanging from wires while copilot voices their characters with different lines than what was in the script.

[–] thericofactor@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Kinda dark, but I like it.

Jumpscare from Microsoft be like:

[–] tempest@lemmy.ca 14 points 1 day ago

This is actually a very good example of middle managers in a large organization getting marching orders and seeing which way the wind is blowing.

IBM had a similar thing in the early 2010s when they decided they were all in on "cloud" (about 10 years too late). Every manager saw where things were headed and pivoted whatever their product was to "Cloud" regardless of the suitability.

The higher ups like this too because it lets them put everything under the "cloud" or AI heading on earnings and revenue and makes them look like they are nimble and working on the new hotness, even if it's just someone moving their calculator to a web app or whatever.

CopilOS 11!

[–] Opisek@piefed.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Where do I obtain these Copilot Drugs?

[–] Olgratin_Magmatoe@slrpnk.net 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's a suspicious question. The Copilot police are on their way to your location.

What does Copilot Groceries do? Get my groceries? I can get behind that in theory.

[–] raicon@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago (2 children)

999 hamburgers 999 fries 999 cokes

[–] Lumidaub@feddit.org 13 points 1 day ago

Hence "in theory". Get exactly what I order or Microsoft pays the bill.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 day ago

"Copilot, order me...uh...us one diet coke"

Ordering -1 diet coke....

...received 65535 diet cokes...

[–] over_clox@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (14 children)

It probably orders your favorite energy drink with bleach and brake fluid...

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago

and the delicious anti-freeze.

No it just summarizes what groceries it needs to operate correctly and expects you to drive out and feed it.

I mean you could just move your files into the recycle bin. But what if an AI agent would do that for you? It would make your life much easier, think about it for a minute.
