/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Can you describe what "this" is?

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

"Computer, stop replicating "unholy abominations""

"Okay captain, from now on dry crackers will be the only food replicated.

This is less a legal issue, and more an activate-the-restraints-on-the-biobed issue while Bev and Deanna try to figure out WTF is wrong with you.

Nah, that's something for the EMH with the Ethical subroutines deactivated

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

I admired his ruthless efficiency.

The replicators should just turn these monstrosities into twinkie weiner sandwiches. Like God intended.

Always remember: When in Douwd, put on your gala uniform to tear strips of Westley.

Why is your comment blank for me? I know you linked a gif but i have to view source to see the link. Im not specifically asking you (unless you know the answer) but its a constant thing here for me. Seems like a good chunk of media posts are just blank. Firefox on Pop!OS

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh, that's weird. I'm not sure exactly; it was an embed from tenor.com. That might be relevant, but I'm not sure. Let me try embedding a gif from imgflip and see if that works:

Picard: I hope this works!

[–] LogicalDrivel@sopuli.xyz 4 points 2 days ago

Yeah that works just fine. IDK, ill pay more attention, it could be a tenor thing.

It wouldn't make Neelix a starfleet uniform so it can't be that hard.

The peeps will swallow the hot dog, and not in a sexy sort of way. More like "The Thing" swallows stuff.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 2 days ago

im pretty sure they mentioned several times they can program, make sure the computer doesnt replicate things like weapons, or knives. they surely can do this.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

If Shax can get kiwi relish a hotdog can have a peep bun

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 3 points 2 days ago

Is it normal to see a picture and feel your stomach cramp up?

[–] teft@piefed.social 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

If we're going by Lower Decks lore then we just need to not have those gastro-horrors programmed into the menu. Only the bridge crew are authorized to even gaze upon this unholy abomination.

[–] ViatorOmnium@piefed.social 6 points 3 days ago

Until Ensign Hacksix Hackersworth gets bored, bypasses the restrictions and converts half of the ship into sausage.

[–] hzl@piefed.blahaj.zone 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Mostly unrelated but is Neelix cheese just a reference to Arthur Dent's tea?

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Apparently I don't remember voyager or hhgttg well enough to get this. Or simple net searches.

All I remember is that the ship made a drink that...

Wait, did neelix make a food that was almost, but not entirely unlike cheese?

[–] hzl@piefed.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 days ago

Neelix caused Voyager to start replicating cheese all over the ship in weird places, while Arthur ended up taking up Eddie's entire capacity trying to make tea.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 5 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Ew.

Mustard?

Shields up for the replies.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I feel bad for you.

Mustard is the oldest, and only completely global, spice that humanity discovered. We found mustard within a few thousand years after we discovered salt, and I'm not certain that we were homo-sapiens by that point.

I hope you can find a mustard that you like.

[–] its_kim_love@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yellow mustard is mostly tumeric.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)
[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

Whole grain is where it's at.

[–] teft@piefed.social 4 points 3 days ago (3 children)

What would you suggest? In my house you're only allowed mustard, onions, cream cheese, and chili for toppings on hotdogs.

Anyone requesting ketchup will be dragged outside and shot. Hot dogs shouldn't be sweet.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Hot dogs shouldn’t be sweet.

I would've agreed with you until today, but wolfeh's comment upthread has made me reconsider.

[–] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I'm down for cheese, but cream cheese? That sounds like a violation of the Geneva Convention

[–] teft@piefed.social 2 points 3 days ago

You need to try a seattle dog if you haven't. Cream cheese on a hotdog is amazing.

[–] Axolotl_cpp@feddit.it 1 points 3 days ago

I got your back. Mustard is repulsive.

Mustard shouldn't be allowed to exist.

Here we have Sekiguchi's weaving worms building a runner phallic prototype.
